Staking out a spot for Wishes

I'm curious how early we should stake out a spot for Wishes and then the projection show prior to it. Wishes is at 8pm and the projection show is at 7:45pm. Crowd level is between a 4-5, I believe. I'd really like to see it from the old FastPass area (I know the one side is for the dessert party so would be in the other area). So what time should we get to that area? I'm fine with getting a snack before it and sitting for a bit if need be.

Thanks!

6:30-ish, or earlier.

Just depends on, well, EVERYTHING.

Its better to arrive far too early, than to arrive one minute too late.

You don't need to stake out a spot for Wishes / Castle Projection Show IMO. Just wait till 10 mins before they start and walk into the middle of Main Street somewhere around Caseys / Ice Cream Parlour. There's plenty of room for everyone, especially on a crowd 4-5 day (but any day to be honest we just did this the other day (Dec 26).

It's not like a parade where you are pretty much limited to curbside.

I agree for a 4-5, you can probably get closer but there is a point where you are too close as the fireworks are behind the castle.

desert party is only a few feet in front of that spot and off to the side

We're doing the garden view dessert party if that makes a difference...

Between Caseys and the Parlour (maybe slightly forward) is the optimum place for viewing Wishes as it was intended, imo, and fine for the projections as well

Last night I saw main street rather illuminated during the show so I'm not sure I'd want to be exactly in that spot but I agree near that spot is great and I always liked it. when they do blog live webcasts, they tend to go just above it on the building.

I always go on the path toward FW there is a little concrete sitting area to the right. I get there about 1/2 before the show. The advantage to it is you can stand on the bench and not worry about anyone behind you, tinkerbell flies right over and you can pretty much see everything. Some of the castle projection is a little blocked with trees but otherwise, it's pretty good and not crowded.

I guess FW means Tomorrowland (not Future World or Fort Wilderness) ...and the bridge to Tomorrowland is a decent place to watch Wishes...not sure how the projection show would be from there.

When we were there in July only a small portion of the Plaza side of the former FP area was roped off for the dessert party. The large majority of it was open and that is where we went. We did get there pretty early (there was a parade then projection then Wishes but we didn't care about the parade viewing since we were going to see the second one), over an hour before Wishes.

@Robo I can't confirm this but I think the all guests open viewing area might actually be vip/cabana viewing while that test is going on. It was not all access last night. I'll inquire again tomorrow when I'm around trying to get a nice spot for the nye fireworks.

also the walkway to tomorrowland (not teacups) there is a lot of new trees that hide the weddings/flower garden and castle now so most of where you have it yellow and good viewing is actually blocked by trees. good for fireworks, horrible for projection show. There is a very narrow spot where the overhead future artwork entry thing is, just left and most of the area you currently have in red is actually a pretty good viewing spot. For fireworks you have a clear view of the castle and close up, for projections you can see that side of the castle that does have it's own..

There is also a very narrow spot by ye ole christmas where fireworks might be ok viewing but projection is great.

Isn't the projection show after wishes now? or is it only some nights.
