Stairway - Ideas????

I'm shopping for new floors, I'll be doing either laminate or luxury vinyl. Either will be a wood look but not the real thing.

I don't like the idea of either on the stairs. I have an open stairway and currently it has carpet but I don't want to keep the carpet there either.

Has anyone had their stairs redone by a carpenter? I'd love real wood stairs and it could really be a showpiece if done well? Do flooring stores have the capability of custom stairs?

Have you done or seen anything on an open stairway that you really liked? The stairway ends in the entry and is along the wall of the 2story den with a small hallway upstairs also open with entry to upstairs rooms. Only 3 rooms upstairs.

Would love to hear your ideas.

This is the look I'd love to get, our stairway is similiar but curves at the bottom.

Our stairway looks very similar to what janette posted and I love it.

An alternative is to have that same type of stairway that janette posted and do a runner up the middle so that some of the wood still shows on the sides.
