Stadium Seating Stroller? Sorry about ANOTHER stroller question........

I have a tandem (back & front seating) stroller and notice most posts refer to the side by sides - any reason for this?
I have a 6 month old, a 2 year old and a 9 year old and love this stroller but if it isn't going to be practical I certainly don't want to haul it all the way from Canada on the plane.
I do have a side by side but it offers no storage under it and with 2 sets of diapers, clothes, etc. - I thought the larger stroller more practical - any insight?

I have had both types. My son is too heavy for the tandem now. He is getting too heavy for the Mac double i have too. I was never able to take Disney Transportation with my tandem. It was too bulky and difficult to fold. I took My kids with a large Backpack and my large purse (with my trading pins) to Epcot by myself on Disney transportation last trip. My kids are 4 and almost 3.

The only problem I would see is taking disney transportation, the tandem's can be awful big.

My tandem is very unwieldy to use and since I have twins, they both wanted to be in front. I found my side by side lighter and easier. Also my side by side had reclinging seats for both and a big basket underneath which was great. It was pretty easy getting on and off the buses.

We are going in April with a 2 1/2 year old and 6 month old. I have been asking similar questions and really don't want to buy a new stroller. I am also concerned about the inexpensive side by side doubles not being comfortable enough, since the baby will be in it a lot. I can't spend a lot of money on a new stroller. We have pretty much decided to take the double- though we will be "practicing" in it with both kids (we live where it is cold and haven't been for a walk with the baby in the stroller in a while). If she doesn't seem comfortable, we will probably bring 2 regular size strollers.

We are renting a car, which is why I decided on the double or 2 regular strollers. We are staying at Wilderness lodge and will take the boat to MK and car to the rest of the parks I think.

I would love to hear what people say about the different strollers. Are the kids comfortable enough in the side by side double for a long time? What side by side has a good basket? We definately don't want to carry our stuff in the park during the day.

I have 5 kids(3dd and twin ds) I have used all kinds of strollers during our many. many trips and my dh and I still prefer two singles. I have literiders with one hand folding. They are bigger than umbrellas but not as big as singles. We also always use backpacks so when we do have to carry our bags, the hands are still free. The biggest hassles have always been the buses when crowed and fighting your way among the parade routes. You do not plan to use Dis buses? Parking seems like a pain when you can hop a bus. Some people love the big stroller, I like to be able to move at a good pace when I want to. I also think, although the big ones fit into shops, it is harder to make your way around. Just my opinion.

I've got to put my vote in for the Mountain Buggy Double Urban. Love this stroller! When I went a few years back though with a 10 mos old and 2 year old, I bought a Peg double Aria to bring to WDW. Oh how I regretted it! Yes, it was lighter to carry on the plane, but pushing it was so much more difficult, steering it was harder & it didn't fit thru the doorways as well as my MB. Last year, I brought the MB and never regretted it for a second. Both seats recline, it holds up to 100lbs, two baskets underneath & two front wheels swivel or can lock in place. The downsides were that it must be folded up on the monorail & busses. It is heavy, but I always found some wonderful people who helped me out if I needed it. People can be so friendly when you least expect it!

Thanks for responding! I have been having a hard time deciding about the stroller. We finally decided on the double and driving because I feel like the umbrella strollers wouldn't be comfortable enough and to take 2 singles (regular size) would be more difficult than the double. We will be going with some other people (my parents and brother), but they may not always be with us and my dad may also be in a wheelchair, depending on how he is feeling that week. How do you handle the two strollers and two kids, especially when one has to be held (can't walk yet)? What kind of strollers did you have? How did you handle it when your child wanted to walk? Those are some of my concerns. If my 2 1/2 year old is going to go on a ride or wants to walk, one of us will have to hold on to him and the other will have to push 2 strollers. I originally wanted to take 2 strollers, but am having trouble figuring out how to get them on the buses, and what we would do if the toddler is walking, etc.
If you have any other suggestions, I would love to hear them!!

Maybe I should have worded my post differently...

I LOVE my tandem stroller, it's the new Evenflo Take Me Too Premier and I LOVE it! I tried all the tandems and side by sides (have one but hate that it has no storage and doesn't have the full recline) and this fold the smallest (one hand fold), is super easy to steer, both seats recline and my girls are so comfortable in it, my oldest who is 9 takes the occasional ride too as she is so light.
My concern is that it won't fit places in WDW. Besides the monorail is there anywhere else I will have to fold it or will it work?

you dont have to fold your stroller onthe monorail or the large Ferryboat to the MK. On the buses you have to fold the stroller .

Hi again, to PrincessasMommy, Just to clarify, your double will fit into shops, counter service food places, etc... we have always found it was just easier to get around with two smaller strollers. Sometimes it is so crowded you can just fit better.

ptslp: My kids are 12, 10, 7, and twins at almost 2. We have been going to Dis with the kids since my oldest was 10 months. I have used a double, and it is useful, like I said above we just prefer the ease of two. I love my literiders(not expensive from toy r us). They fold with one hand and lock. Yes, it is a hassle with with 2 babies(the twins went 2x last year). Just take your time, the worst part is getting on the bus. If one of the kids wanted to walk, we only let them do it if it wasn't wall to wall people, then we pushed with one hand and held the toddlers hand with the other. All the rides have stroller parking, you can't take your stroller in line. So lots of time my dh took a child and buggy and I stayed in the shade while the other slept or got some streching time. Lots of people use the doubles, it's no big deal, we just like the freedom of two especially in crowds. Happy reading!
