Back in May, I was buying $1200 worth of gift cards at Target and a manager saw me buying all the cards using the Rewards and Red Card discount, and she suggested the idea of stacking Pharmacy Rewards to me. I was doubtful they could be stacked, and I asked if she was sure they stacked and she said yes. Another manager came by about that time and confirmed it as well. So based on their info, I saved 3 Pharmacy Rewards for our July 4th trip to buy Disney gift cards with my Red Debit Card.

I went in yesterday fully expecting to be told no, they could not be stacked and they wouldn't honor what those managers had told me. I would've been disappointed, but happy with the regular discount. However, I was able to purchase $1750 worth of Disney gift cards for $1400, for a savings of 20%! The store policy is that Rewards do not stack, and the system will only allow 1 Pharmacy Reward per transaction. However, I nicely explained to the cashier what those two managers had told me. So he called a manager over. It was a very young manager and she asked me who told me that and I said that I didn't remember their names, but had that receipt with me and told her the date it was and what they looked like. She said she knew exactly who I was referring to and she would honor it since I had been told they did stack. She was very nice about it, and even said she was going to Disney on Wed.

She rang in the one Pharm Reward and then manually entered that same amount twice for the other two cards (without accounting for the difference for deducting the previous discounts so we saved more than just "stacking" because she couldn't do the math). I was even more shocked when the entire $1400 went through on my Red Debit with no problems! Yay!! Too bad this was a one time deal and we can't stack Pharmacy Rewards all the time!!

Wow, that is great! While I'm really happy for you, I'm having a pity party for myself because I cant earn pharmacy rewards in NY :(

That stinks! Is it because NY Targets don't have pharmacies or because a state law will not allow the incentive for prescriptions?

State law in both New York and New Jersey. You cannot earn rewards on prescriptions.

You also cannot earn rewards on prescriptions if you have any kind of federal insurance (e.g. Medicare, Federal Employees Plan). I work for the government, and my insurance is through work. As a result, I cannot earn rewards either.

Interestingly enough, Target rewards for my dog's prescriptions. She has been on long-term steroid treatment and I added her to my Pharmacy Rewards account. That's how I've gotten most of my rewards.

Can I use the cards I purchase at Target to pay for my whole package (resort, dining, and tickets)? How can I do this over the phone? Do I need to combine all the cards before calling Disney?

You can pay for your whole package :goodvibes. You will just call the number and tell them you have some gift cards and then read them the numbers on the back of the card ( there is a scratch off area that has the rest of the numbers). I do not know of anyone being about to combine the cards, but you do not need to worry about that anyway. If you get someone who gets tired of taking the cards, just thank them for the time and call back. The last time I called with a bunch of cards the person was really nice and joked that she gets paid by the hour.
Also, keep all of the cards until your trip is over. If for some reason you need to cancel your trip or get something refunded, it will o back to the cards.
