Stacie's Journey for Weight Loss and the 1/2 Marathon Jan 09!

Great job Stacie! That is an awesome pace, I don't care if you ran, skipped or crawled, that is incredible. I think you are approaching this whole thing with a sensible and long range attitude. That will make you more successful all the way around. Be proud of yourself!

Thanks guys! Stacinator...Is that like the Baconator? :rotfl: Yummy. I'm hungry. No Hardee's around here though!

Yesterday was XT for me. 40 min was on tap. I had to MAKE myself go to gym, but it paid off. I did 40 min on the elliptical. 1.8 miles...That's really slow according to my pace when I walk/run, but it was a really good workout. I got a hot and sweaty! Nice visual huh! :goodvibes Then, I decided to hop on the bike for a leisurely 30 min and got in 8.2 miles. The shins were really aching and are still a bit sore today. Actually, I'm pretty stiff all over today, but I feel good knowing I got in a good workout.

I thought my chiro appt was yesterday, but I had calendared it wrong. It's today so I will miss aquacise...again! Next week there should be no issues and I really hope to make it back to class. I always look forward to it, but I've missed 3 weeks now.

I did some coupon clipping last night for BJ's and looked at Target's sale paper. I think I will run (ok...drive...) to Target for lunch. I am making some t-shirts for our Disney trip and they have the solid t's on sale. They also have my laundry detergent on sale PLUS you get a $5 Target gift card!

I guess that's about all for now!

Stacie

Hey 6 mile girl! :goodvibes You are doing SO awesome!! I agree with Scott and Amy with the walking. If it feels good to you, then do it. And if it increases your pace time, then that's an added bonus. :thumbsup2

Congrats to surpassing your longest run! :cool1: That's an awesome thing!

Oh, and the new clothes......WOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOO!! You deserve every bit of it!!

Stacie -- wow!! I am so proud of you!! Great time!! You are totally an inspiration to me! :)
I start W7 tonight, and i am trying to jog 1.75 miles straight -- so i will think of you all the way!

No wait...that's Wendy's! :goodvibes

Yeah Stacie, sad to say I knew you had it wrong! I can't remember my kid's ages half the time but I do know my fast food line ups!

Great job getting that workout in. Hot and sweaty is a good thing. Gotta love those great Target deals! Sounds like your week is off to a good start. Good luck at the chiro!

Add me to the list of people who think that your LR rocked. The walking really worked for you--in terms of time, HR, feeling good. I say keep at it!

And you've got all this other good news going on to celebrate, too. :woohoo: on the clothes you like--I, too, am a fan of the longer shorts. But dresses....:scared1: I'm sure you look fabulous in yours. C'mon, take a pic of yourself in it--we'll tell you how wonderful you look!:cool1:

Hi Deb. Thanks for stopping by--nice surprise! and Thanks to everyone for continuing to support me in my journey!

Yesterday was a complete failure workout wise. I was supposed to do 4 miles. Nope. didn't happen. What went wrong??? :confused3 It was beautiful day. I didn't have it in me. I started out walking to warm up and then started my run. I got about .4 miles done and my right shin start aching...bad! I ended up trying to walk fast and that just made the shin worse. So...instead of pushing myself. I quite. I feel so defeated. I did pump up the tires on my bike (workout in itself!) and ride for about 10 min up and down my street. I wanted to try to keep my HR up for a while longer so it wouldn't totally be a waste. Between the attempt to run and the minuscule bike ride, I got in 2.6 miles total and about 25 min of activity. Ugh. :headache:

My next run is 3 miles on Friday. Let's hope I can get up early and make myself do it on the TM before work. It's supposed to be rainy here...

All for now...
Stacie

 Stacie,

I am so proud of you for listening to your body and trying a different way to workout when your shin started to hurt. No worries about the run, WISH sis. You can try again today or tomorrow when your shin feels better.:goodvibes

I hope your Thursday is a good one!

Hi Stacie
sometimes we just need to rest!!
you still managed to get a workout, well done :)

Stacie, well, 25 min. and 2.5 miles is NOT a failure!! LOL You should be proud that you got in that when you weren't feeling 100%..

Ya, about this rain, we got 2 great sunny (but cool) days, i should have known now we are getting 2 warmer rainy days now... ugh, is it so wrong to just want warm AND sunny?!!

Just a quick update... Wed was the last day I did anything last week. :headache: We ended up going to a hockey game on Friday night and Saturday was filled w/ cleaning the house.

I was able to get my LR in on Sunday. 5 miles. Overall it was good. My avg pace was 13:38 and my HR avg was 170, peaking at 186. I did a walk/run combo and again, when I would run, it would be faster. I was happy with it. This week is a pull-back week as far as mileage. My XT actually increases, but I am scheduled for 3 miles on Wed, Friday and 4 miles on Sunday.

It's kinda funny, because as I look at this week, I think 3 miles... whew! No problem. Nice break! That is a large cry from where I was a few months ago!!! :rotfl:

I think that's about all for now!
Stacie

stacie, isn't it funny?! I look back at when we started out on this thing together, and then i went and slacked for a while.. but it is truly inspiring to see how far and how quickly you have come!! You are doing great!

Hi Stacie!

3 miles..."no problem"...look at you go!!

Seriously, congrats on successfully adding distance to your runs...those first few miles are the hardest...it's all cake from there.

(ok..maybe not "cake")

(but keep telling yourself that anyway)

(remember...it's a mental game)

Have a good day!

 STACIE! Wow...GREAT job with your 5 Mile Long Run. I remember my 5 Miler because I really think it's one of those "turning point" runs. 5 Miles is a LONG WAY TO GO no matter what...and you conquered it girl! I'm soooo proud of you :). Once you realize you can cover the longer distances...5, 8, 10 you'll realize that nothing is impossible!!! :thumbsup2

Stacie: Add me to the list of people telling you that you rock! 3 miles is a short run now, is it? ;) You're doing great, finding your pace & rhythm!!! The Minnie awaits!
