Hi

for those of you who are thinking of grabbing a night or two down at the beach, I discovered a link on another board that took me to hotwire.com , we have got a four star beach front hotel (Tradewinds grand beach) for £77!!:yay: the website said we had saved 62% could be £182 on other websites, checked with expedia and they were offering for £140 so still a saving. they also give deals for the orlando area, the link was a website called betterbiding and was on the page orlando outside attractions which could save you more but I am happy with the deal we got
hope this is useful to somebody :goodvibes

That's a great price for a very nice hotel debby. The hotels down that way are fairly expensive, more than an equivalent in Int Drive or Kissimmee area.

Did you do the Hotwire special rate, where you don't get the hotel details until you have paid up front? If so, they can be complete pot luck and for every good deal like this one, there'll be others that don't work out quite so well.

Congratulations :thumbsup2

we stayed there in 97 and had a great time
still remember the lovely smooties we got at the pool bar

really enjoyed walking the beach each evening

happy memoires :cloud9:

I've used hotwire many times and never been disappointed always got really lucky, we used them for our Washington part of our trip next month and got a 5 star hotel for $120 a night!! the cheapest I could find the same hotel we won anywhere else was £285 a night... needless to say we were happy

Yeah I had a look on betterbidding when I used hotwire, it definitely helps. Despite what I said about it, I still think it's a great way to book a hotel as long as you don't have your heart set on a specific one. You will always save with it, but just to varying degrees.

Great price, we stayed there in 2000 for my Dad's 50th and it was gorgous! :thumbsup2

Thats an excellent saving, , even though you dont know the hotel until booked, there are a few sites that basically let you know which hotel you are bidding on, although sometimes , but rarely they are wrong

Its a cracking hotel. We stayed there in 2004. Loads of pools, kids club, cafe bars , pizza hut , right on the beach. You wont go wrong.

it is a lovel hotel w stayed ast year, and lovvely beach but it is also a convention hotel nd is often very booked and full up with convention guests, we found it very busy and areas were filled up/ sctioned off just for there parties.
maybe find out if anything is going on ,on your dates......
