Last year we departed on 17th of March. This year we'll be in DLP. What to expect on that day? We did see park prepare for this festival.

we arrived on 17th March last year :). My trip report from March 2011 has photos of what was going on that day. Chip n Dale did a show with Irish dancers 2 or 3 times that day, there was a bagpipe and drum band parading on Main St, and a pre-parade later in the day with Mickey and Minnie dressed in emerald green, followed by the Irish dancers and the pipe band.

Fireworks over the Castle at the end of the park day (8pm) were short (about 7 minutes long as I recall) but pretty to see.

I guess it will be crowed? We should probably avoid popular places and restaurants :rolleyes1

off to see your TR

It wasn't too crowded in 2010. There did seem to be a bigger proportion of irish folks though! but didn't seem much busier than the other days we were there (mon-thurs)

It was a lovely atmosphere, irish dancers, the St Patricks day pre parade and the fireworks at the end of the day were great.

2011 it was certainly busier than I expected a Thursday in March to be - and that carried on all the way through to Sunday. Monday 21st March was our last day in the park, and it was definitely a lot quieter that day than we'd seen all trip.

I wouldn't say it was crowded really, but yes, busier than you experienced last year Isila.
