St. Maartin Great Bay Beach-anyone been there?

Has anyone gone swimming at Great Bay Beach in St. Maarten? The beach that's near the ship tender. Just wondering if it is a good place to get in a short swim.

I guess you are right. That's kinda scary! As they say, "time flies when your having fun!" Whoo Hoo!

We have been on the Eastern twice and have gone to this beach both times. It is very convenient.$5 ferry from where the ship docks. It was very clean. Beach chairs were available(fee)as well as umbrellas. I believe there was also bar service on the beach. Although we didn't use it I saw a water trampoline. The water was very calm when we were there and beautiful/

Thanks for the info. I've seen in previous DCL navigators that it was "within walking distance from the ship." How much walking does that mean? After all, I'm on vacation. Can't do anything too strenuous! LOL!

It's a 10-15 minute walk, but since the $5 ferry pass gives you unlimited rides back/forth all day, it's a bargain.
