We have a 7 night cruise on the Wonder booked for March 2018. I was looking at our reservation today and saw that the day that we are suppose to be in St. Maarten now says that it is a sea day. I called Disney to see if that is correct and was told that if anything on the trip is changed that I will receive an e-mail, that's all the info the CM could tell me. I told her that I hadn't received an e-mail and asked if she could confirm the change, she said she couldn't. I don't really care if we go to St. Maarten or not, however if we don't go there then I really want to go somewhere else. The only other port days are to San Juan and CC. I don't want 4 sea days. I would LOVE to go to CC twice, but the Dream will be at CC then. I also noticed that under the port adventures, there is now only one choice for St. Maarten, which seems odd. My cruise isn't for another 9 months, I realize that's a long time away and lots can happen between now and then. Anyone have a cruise going to St Maarten soon that's still happening, or not. I know Disney doesn't go there very often. Thanks

They might still be trying to fit in either Tortola or St. Thomas. I would think you would go to St. Thomas. Weird that they took off St. Maarten with no replacement. There will be an email with itinerary changes provided to you or your travel agent if you used one of those. Also, your port fees would change, and if they cancelled it, those port fees would come back to you.

I'm going on the same cruise and I'm very curious to know myself.

Edit: I just looked at my reservation and it still shows St. Maarten.

I looked up the Mar 4 Wonder cruise on the DCL website. It still shows St. Maarten on the itinerary.

Weird!! All morning it showed St Maarten as being a sea day, I kept checking it, like 10 different times. Just checked again and now it's showing St Maarten on day 4. Must of been a glitch with the site.

Interestingly there is only ONE port adventure listed for St. Maarten if you go to Caribbean Port Adventures and click on St. Maarten. (I'm pondering switching back to the Wonder...and going somewhere other than St. Maarten where I've been before *would* be a draw for me...but I'd like to know for sure before I book.)

If I lost St Maarten for St Thomas or Totola I'd seriously consider changing my cruise if I could.

See, I would love to get St Thomas or Tortola instead.

(Although since I'm only paying about $300 more for a balcony on the Fantasy than I would an ocean view on the Wonder, I'm staying put. Now, if they dropped San Juan? I'd give serious consideration to changing even if the Wonder ended up being more.)

Why? For us it doesn't matter what islands we go to. We went to St Maarten on a cruise 16 yrs ago, haven't been to St Thomas or Tortola. The port excursions for them look better than the ones for St. Maarten. We plan on going to a beach at St Maarten, so if it had been dropped it wouldn't have been that disappointing as long as we went somewhere, just would hate to have another sea day.

For a lot of us, the reason we take Easterns is because of the extra sea day over a Western. Many would consider four sea days to be two sea days too few. :D That said, given my choice on islands, I'll take San Juan and Tortola over St. Thomas and St. Maarten. I love that San Juan is *right there* when you dock, and there's plenty to do and see without having to mess with excursions. I don't care about St. Thomas or St. Maarten. BTDT enough times.

That makes sense. We've only been on one Eastern and that was 16 yrs ago. We went to St Maarten and St. Johns. We went on a land tour on St Maarten. It was awful, saw so much poverty, I was depressed for the rest of the cruise. Also our driver nearly killed us with his driving. I wouldn't mind a lot of sea days if the cruise was on the Fantasy or Dream, but it's on the Wonder. With no Mid-ship detective agency or mini-golf I would soon get bored, I can only hang out at the pool for so long and then I get bored. I guess it does give more opportunities for the alcohol tastings:crazy: too many though and I won't remember much of the cruise. I'm looking forward to San Juan since we haven't been there. Really, anywhere that gets me out of the cold weather is all I need.

I didn't know Disney went to St Maarten anymore. I actually booked a RCCL cruise in order to go to that port next year.

Will need to look into this...

Also - reason we want to go to St Maarten is Maho Beach is on my bucket list.

We did the same for the exact same reason. I'd love to go back to St Maarten again but could take or leave St Thomas. My husband works for Boeing though and is an airplane nut... the background on our TV is a 747 landing that we were under when we got to go - one of the last times KLM flew one there. :cool1:

The cruise we are taking is on the Wonder March 4, 2018. Leaves PC goes to St Maarteen, San Juan P.R., and CC. I believe there is another cruise in Feb that goes to same places. The prices are lower than other Eastern Carribean cruises that the Fantasy does.

Presidents' Week does. At least for now.

Our last time to Sint Maarten was "forever ago" when DCL started with the Eastern C Cruises. We visited Orient Beach - and it was beautiful. and the kids and and wife didn't mind the partial nudity. And then there was the local couple that came strolling down the beach buck neked. And their skin was way way way worse for the wear from being out in the sun for way to many days - I've seen more attractive fake wall paneling in a 60's era mobile home! My understanding is that many years ago the beach was kinda wiped out from one of the hurricanes.

If we ever make it back to Sint Maarten , we will visit Margot in Saint Martin (same island, "different country" from where DCL docks)

My hubby is an aviation nut. Has been since he was a little kid and used to fly with his grandfather every weekend if he was good all week. His grandfather was a private pilot instructor. So of course hubby learned to fly young. Soloed at 16. ;) Maho was his dream. It was the sweetest thing when we got there. His eyes wide with wonder, smiling like a fool. Kept saying "I'm actually here." We set ourselves up at a table under a speaker at Sunset Bar, listened to air traffic control, and when planes were on final the guys would jump up & run out. They surfed the fence. The Insel Air plane swung way out close to the fence on purpose. Hubby came running back giddy as all heck with a bleeding lip from a rock hitting his face. He was so happy! Boys are so weird! LOL! We were there like 5 hours. Waited for the biggest for the day before we left. They aren't flying 747s into Princess Julianna anymore. I'm sad he never saw one from Maho. We'd LOVE to go back, tho.

Didn't realize they no longer fly 747s there. That was quite a rush when the KLM flight was overhead. We love Maho Beach!

We preferred St Maarten over St Thomas as well. But it's bc we are just interested in the beach, and the sand in St Thomas was very rough and sharp. We all got tiny cuts on our feet. There was quite a drop off right near the shoreline as well. The sand on St Maarten was soft and one of our favorite EC beach days. I'm sure every beach and island has its good and bad points though, and we bring our own personal memories and experiences when we choose.
