Hi!! We are looking at a STL vacation over this summer! We would like to do the zoo, arch, and Six Flags with their water park. My question is, where should I be looking for a hotel to stay at? I used Travelocity to look up hotels in the Six Flags area but there were only 4 hotels.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Six Flags is located in Eureka MO which is where I live.

There is a Holiday Inn which is right next to the park. It is a mediocre hotel, eh. If you want to be right next to Six Flags you stay there.

If you want to stay further out we stayed at the Drury Inn in Fenton before and that was nicer. It is about 15/20ish mins to Six Flags. Which is about 30mins to downtown from that area.

Not sure what to tell you to do. You could just stay at the Holiday Inn and then just travel downtown for the day. Stuff closes early down there and well I would rather stay further out.

Don't just go to the Zoo, check out the other stuff in Forest Park like the Science Center.:thumbsup2

Six Flags is about an hour from downtown St. Louis. You may want to stay somewhere between the two if you are planning on staying in the same hotel for the whole trip.

There is plenty to do in Forest Park where the zoo is located for free. The art museum, history museum and the science center. The muny has free tickets but you have to get there early and wait. ( There are reasonable priced tickets also)

If the Cardinals are in town while you are here it is always fun to go to a game.

If your kids are younger I highly recommend The Magic House and The City Museum.

Have fun on your vacation.

We just got back from STL a few weeks ago and I'd highly recommend you ordering your tickets for the Arch ahead of time rather than waiting til you get there, especially if you are planning to do multiple things the day of your visit and have your timelines mapped out already!

The City Museum is a MUST!! Grant's Farm is also fun, the Budwiser Horses are there and there is free beer :lmao:. We stay at my parents so I can't help you with hotels. I wouldn't stay in downtown St. Louis.

I've only been to St. Louis once, but wanted to recommend a Drury Inn. They serve a free HOT breakfast (waffle maker, eggs, etc) and also have a cocktail hour w/ snacks and drinks. They are very nice, affordable hotels.

We went for a college football game over Labor Day weekend.

We managed to squeeze some sight-seeing in.

We did the Arch, Anheiser-Busch (spelling?) tour -free, Grant's farm - free.

Grants farm was great, especially w/ little kids. They have a petting zoo and my DD was able to feed baby goats with a bottle ($1 donation).

The Arch was a nightmare for us, it was packed. If you are going to go, I would try to get the tix ahead of time and go when it opens.

Have fun!

I would get a hotel in the Fenton Mo area. You will be about 15 to 20 mins from Six Flags going west on I-44 and about 20 to 30 mins from the Arch going I-44 to I-55 to the riverfront and about 15 to 20 mins from the Zoo taking 44 to Hampton Rd exit.

Drury Inn in Fenton would be great. Check out their website for specials. Also, they have a rewards program you can enroll in.
