We are driving from St. Louis. We will be stopping at Stone Mountain, Atlanta, Georgia. Can someone recommend a campground near Disney?
We do not want to waste a whole day in getting in late.

Thanks,

My first question is - are you planning on staying at Stone Mountain for a visit, or only an overninght stop?

If it is only for an overnight stop it is well out of the way for your trip. Just north of Atlanta there are a couple of beautiful state parks and COE campgrounds that are only a couple of minutes off I-75.

Now, with that said when we go we stop in Ocala at Silver River State Park. Its about 15 - 20 minutes off I-75 but it's a beautiful campground/park. We generally stay there a couple of days to get into the vacation mood then get up early the day we are scheduled to arrive at FW and drive in early.

We were planning on staying a few days at Stone Mountain. We are moving from Washington State to St Louis and heard some good things about Stone Mountain.

Maybe we will have to stop another time since it seems to be out of the way.

Thanks for your help.

We just got back from FW. We stayed at the Ocala Ranck RV Park the night before we got to FW. Beautiful park, friendly people, about an hour and a half, via the Turnpike, from FW.

Have fun. ;)

Thanks for the information and the link.

It looks like a great place. I'm going to call for reservations.

What loop did you stay at FW? We requested 1400 loop but did not know a site to request.

Thanks again.
Kris

Your Welcome.

I did not request an area, just full hookups and cable ( didn't get the cable site ). When I arrived at the check in gate the girl started looking at available sites and described the size and location. We finally settled on the 1300 loop. I had a little trouble getting my 36ft fifth wheel into the site but I did get it parked to my satisfaction. Behind us, across the canal, was the pool and an open area where we watched people play bocce ball. We were on the opposite side of the loop from the bathrooms, but that was not an issue, anyway. 1300 was a little ways from the Trading Post but we had a golf cart.

Have Fun. ;)
