We are first time cruisers going on the Magic 7 day Eastern. As we are getting close to time to sign up for our excursions, I am hoping that someone can tell me which of the St. John excursions is the best. We have it narrowed down to the Trunk Bay Beach excursion or the Annaberg Ruins excursion. Any help? Much thanks!!

Trunk Bay is cool if you like to snorkel. The water is very clear and they give you equipment and everything, about 80 minutes to snorkel.

The other one would probably be towards the hiking set. We took the Trunk Bay excursion, and loved it. The beach itself is pretty enough to just lay out and relax.

Thanks for the info, goingbacksoon. DH and I haven't done any snorkling outside of our DDs swimming pool, but I would love to give it a go. DH was talking with our DSIL about taking video equipment along, and DH said the only thing that he would get on video would be the people that walked past his chair and his feet would be in all the shots:laughing: On the Trunk Bay trip, do you have any sightseeing on the way? Or, just a straight trip to the beach?

The Trunk Bay, Eco Hike and St. John's Island tour all take the same boat over to St. John, then get on open air taxi's for the ride to the specific destination. All the taxi's have microphones and speakers so I'm sure all the drivers talk about the things you're passing on the way to Trunk Bay.

We did the Island Tour so spent more time looking and stopping at different places.

St. John is gorgeous, you'll love it.

I went on the Trunk Bay excursion...was scared to snorkel...did for about 5 minutes...saw a fish, screamed and got water in my mouth and mouth piece....ended that!!!!! Swam with my son in the clear water and sand bottom....was one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen.....you will love it!!!!! Enjoy:wave:

Thanks..2pure....You gave me a good laugh!!:teeth: I don't think I would be afraid of the fish, but I am not a swimmer...kind of a dogpaddler..so am I going to be able to do the snorkeling? I would really like to say I did it at least once in my life.:wave2:
