Does anyone know of a good hotel to stay in here? I really wanted to stop here and do site seeing and have dinner, then leave early in the am for Disney. My family use to do this when I was younger. Now my brother and I would love to carry on the family tradition and do this with our kids! Any info would be great! Its been a very long time since we have done this! trip is planned for October.

Have you checked TripAdvisor.com reviews yet?

We live close so we just drive down for the day, have never actually stayed in any of the hotels.

What price range are you looking for? You've got everything there from flea infested dump to very high quality nicer-than-the-Grand-Floridian and priced accordingly...

We only get there every other year on our way to Disney, so we stay at the Hampton Inn in St. Augustine Beach. It's right on the beach with a small "playground" for the kids. Palm trees and really pretty plants and flowers behind the hotel as you are walking down to the ocean. Pelicans flying over the balcony...sigh..wish I was there..anyway, the only thing I didn't really like was sitting on the balcony, the rail is right in line with your view..so I sit on the ground. Beds are VERY comfortable..continental b-fast. I'm sure there are better places that others prefer..but this is what we like. Of course, just BEING there is great, so I hope you have a wonderful time.

This is a great question! When we stayed there we picked a budget place by the Interstate but I'd like to stay somewhere nicer next time.

We LOVED St Augustine!

We love, love, love St. Augustine. When we go we always stay at this wonderful B&B in the historic area. It's called the Cedar House Inn. They do not allow children though:confused:

There's a Hilton right in the middle of the historic district that's really cute. For swanky, check out the Casa Monica.

Thanks!! Sounds great so far. Forgot a about trip advisor! I'll check it out!

The Hilton is beautiful and right on the waterfront but very pricy IMO for a Hilton. Yes the Casa Monica is wonderful!
