I see SSRS as a way, to get an extra 12 years in DVC II, versus DVC I.

I see SSRS as a way, to get access to DVC I resorts like BCV, at the 7 month window

I see SSRS as a way, to gain, with DVC II,in the future, if we have a ANimal Kingom Resort to Monorail resort.

I do not understand, why someone would stay at SSRS Versus OKW though

isn't SSRS &OKW same location??
but OKW rooms larger than SSRS
and OKW much less points than SSRS

What do others find attractive about SSRS versus OKW?
Pool? something else? I know very little about SSRS and look forward to any input.

Well, the "look" of different resorts appeal to different folks, that's a start point. Also, SSR is within viewing/easy walking distance of DD and PI which are a draw to many folks. It will be a newer resort, has a very nice pool area and it will have easy access to the facilities of the SSR spa. I love OKW but I can see many strong points to SSR as well. In some size villas, day of week and season, the point difference can be as little as 1 point per night.

isn't SSRS &OKW same location??
No. SSR is across the water from Downtown Disney and will be re-using some of the buildings that the old Disney Institute left behind.
but OKW rooms larger than SSRS
Yes.
and OKW much less points than SSRS
No, SSR isn't a lot more points. A week in a two bedroom in July at SSR will be 20 more points than OKW, but 34 points less than Beach Club Villas or Wilderness Lodge Villas.
What do others find attractive about SSRS versus OKW?
It's a dedicated DVC resort; the spa; very close to DTD with it's entertainment and resturants; the only WDW property Disney is selling; 12 extra years; better pool than OKW;

We own 300 @ OKW and 100 @ SSR. The reasoning that PamOKW pretty much sums it up for us. Also, since we have only a few points at SSR we will have to bank and borrow so we feel it is our resort for when it is just our family (3 of us).

We have more OKW points and with less points and larger units it is perfect for when we invite guests (which seems to be most of the time).

The extra years wasn't as big of a draw to us as the DTD location, pool with a slide, newer units and especially the SPA!princess:

KANSAS-

Before you buy, check out Saratoga Springs in person. If you like the resort and the location, then go ahead and make the investment.

If you are young enough to take advantage, the 12 extra years is a great feature.

We knew that BCV's was where we wanted to call "home" long before it was built. We just waited until it was available, checked it out in person, and liked what we found.

We have never had a regret that we purchased DVC.

The information is very interesting. I guess I did not understand the location, was that more attractive, so that is nice.

can you walk to DTD from SSRS, or will you have to ride the same bus that OKW people do?

I am glad to know in some circumstances, not that much more in points, for SSRS versus OKW

Now for Grand villa, the points are huge difference between SSRS and OKW, right??

The point that people are making about the pool confuses me?

is the pool at SSRS, going to really nice, in comparison to OKW?

I thought OKW, was improving its pool with a slide??

What will make the SSRS pool so attractive??

SSR will be able to walk to DD or take a boat. Bus service will be not be shared with OKW -- DI had their own bus prior to closing.

The main pool at SSR is being built specifically as a feature pool. Descriptions of it have been very interesting. It's more than just a slide. As the resort builds out they will also have additional quiet pools. No one has experienced the pool yet but one CM was said to have described it as being comparable to SAB (I think that may be an exaggeration).

The GV comparison is tough. Su-Th OKW does tend to be quite a bit lower. Fri-Sa SSR will be lower than OKW.

do you like to party?

if yes then do you like to party nightly at PI?

then if yes - SSR is for you - no doubts about it....

OKW is within walking distance of the Westside of DD. SSR is within walking distance easily of Market Place and PI - it is not recommend that you walk back to OKW from PI after partying - but I don't think you will have a problem walking back to SSR.\

Now if you don't like to party.

Which park is your favorite?

Studios or Epcot - then either BWV or BCV

MK - then VWL

AK - then I think that OKW, BWV and BCV are located about equal distance from the AK.

If you like the Key West - then OKW
if you like the Atlantic SeaCoast - then BCV
if you like the Pacific Mountain range -then VWL
if you like the Atlantic Broadwalk area only much, much better - then BWV
If you the spas of the real SS - then SSR

However if you are planning on buying from DVC -then SSR is the only choice.

you can get other through resale.

SSR has not opened up yet. I am going to wait until I hear from some people how it is sleeping over there right next to the noise from the nightly party at PI. As for OKW with a slide at its pool I would hardly call that an improvement!!

I bought SSR because I have 3 kids and I hope that the activities at DD will be appealing to them on days we don't visit the parks. The Lego store, Disney Quest, the theater and other locations. I hope it will help make them willing to visit Disney with their old parents a little longer and once they are of legal age they can go over to the party at PI while DH and I rest.
