So howmany people here have purchased into SSR so far?

What are you looking forward to most?

My family purchased SSR about a month ago. We are looking forward to it being brand new and the proximity to DTD.

We Did,We Did!!
Finally convinced Hubby after about 5 years of trying!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc
I am most looking forward to taking friends and family with me and showing them the Magic of Disney that takes place once you are there!!

Also looking forward to doing Disney til I die!! ;)

we got an add on there. I kind of wanted to wait to add on more points at wilderness lodge, but with the $10 off SSR ended up being about $65 per point for us (with my wife's cm discount) so it was hard to refuse! Especially for 50 year points; now we will have a little something left when the others run out. Well, lord willing and all that. We went to the model at the bwv (we were already buying then) and they are nice. The decor and colors are nicer than bcv or bwv, imho. The location is OK to me, but I like the BCV, WLV sort of "resort" better than the "condo" type of resort, so I don't know if I will really like it as much as those two. The pool looks good, I think the location will be nice to be next to downtown disney.

we just bought 200 at SSR and I'm looking forward to the whole DVC experience PERIOD! Honestly I see other resorts like VWL that my family would probably enjoy more but the fact of the matter is I wanted the 50 year contract so I can visit on my 78th birthday....Still hoping to add on at VWL in the future....OH and how could I forget????? THE SILLY POOL IS CALLING ME:p

We just bought into SSR at 160 points during our recent WDW vacation. We are looking forward to having the ability to bring family down and enjoy time with them in the magic! We are also excited about the styling of the resort, which is exactly to our tastes!

Just excited to be a part of the magic!

SSR is going to be a beautiful resort. The theming--the natural springs and rock formations of upstate NY, health, and art, I think will be a very soothing atmosphere. The health spa will be nearby and I am especially looking forward to the discount benefit that DVC members will receive there.

The pool, at least the artist's renderings, look amazing, and I think it will be a winner with my son.

I am also looking forward to the Artist's Palette eatery, which sounds like it is going to combine a great atmosphere, convenience, and food quality into one location.

And, of course, the proximity to Downtown Disney can't be beat if you like the area. We always end our evenings there, so this will be very convenient for us.

Can't wait. Thanks for getting me excited about it today!!

We are headed down in Dec and we are planning on adding. We currently have BCV so I am assuming we will now be getting SSR.

If you're considering an add-on, now is the time to call your guide. DVC is currently discounting SSR by $10 per point--from $89 down to $79. With 10% down, there are no payments, interest or dues until the resort opens in May '04. So, even if you want to pay cash, put the 10% down now to get the discounted rate, and pay off the balance in May.

Discounted pricing is scheduled to end 10/31.

That sounds great.

Except I spoke to my guide last week and because of certain laws in our home province, he can not discuss promos or prices with us... So that beats that.

Does anyone know if these promos will be available in Dec? Please let me know... If not maybe I can beat it our of him... hehehhe... jk.

According to all of their promotional material, the incentive is scheduled to end on 10/31/03. I suppose they could extend it, or offer some lesser incentive between November and May when the resort actually opens, but it would be purely speculation at this point.

Or they may just try to steer people toward Magical Beginnings (taking away 1st year's points in exchange for discount) since the resort is still under construction.

I guess I need to call my guide back and really stress we are going to be there and we are buying then... Even if he can not give me any info, maybe he can work something out.

Thanks.

My DW and I purchased SSR recently. I can't wait to soak up all the Disney magic that I can get and hear the CM's say "Welcome Home"

My DW and I just sent away the final paperwork for a new SSR purchase last Saturday - we're going to be seeing the models and site when we are down there in TWO WEEKS!!!

We think that the place is going to be bee-you-tee-ful; the grounds, the pool, the architecture. Plus, the DTD/PI location is a big plus for us - might spend a day in a park, but our nights belong to Jessica Rabbit! ;)

We bought in. 210 points. Saw models August 4th and gave deposit Aug. 6th. We are very excited!!!!!!!!

We are in the process of adding on 300 pts at SSR. We have 250 at BCV and now another 300 WOOOHOOO!

Now we can travel a lot more

Judy

We just sent the papers back last Friday for 200 pts. @ SSR - our 1st. purchace into DVC - sight unseen. I haven't been to WDW since '75 and DW and DS have never been.

Only found out about DVC a month ago (stumbled across the DISboard while researching trip in March) and knowing the quality of just about everything Disney, it seemed like a no-brainer to join up. I can't over-emphasize how much this board helped us in the decision making process ----incredible help!!!! Then there's our guide, Bernard, who made all the details perfectly clear and "guided" us through the process.....top-notch help!!!

I don't think there's one particular thing about SSR itself that sold us. We just wanted to get our feet in the door of DVC in general.

At the very least, we plan on enjoying SSR often but also hope to make use of the other resorts along with Member Getaways options.

I've just closed on 160 at SSR, and this long-distance Brit is looking forward to it all! Our first trip was to be in '05, but we are hopefully going to push the boat out and go Home in '04.

The pool looks like it is going to be fab, and I love the DTD area, so the location was always a plus for me.

Enjoy yours as much as I'm sure I will enjoy mine!
