Hi All,

Just wanted to throw this out there for everyone who may (as I thought of it) "get stuck" at SSR.....

WOW!!!!!! This place is beautiful and soooo glad we stayed there or I would have listened to the negative and not experienced this for myself!!!

Very beautiful resort, hoping to stay there again. We stayed in the Congress Park Area. Not a bad thing to be said here!

This is now my 3rd (or maybe 2nd) favorite!

Everyone has their opinions. We own at BCV & BLT because of location. We're currently adding on at SSR through Resale because of the Paddock Pool Expansion & it's proximity to DTD. I'm excited to check it out soon.

Aah, that is where the new pool will be, I never paid it much attention cause wasn't sure if I would stay here. My DD liked this section very much. Happy to report I thought they were all great! I will have to read up on the pool expansion though.

SSR is my favorite resort. It is truly "home" to us. I'm so glad you are a "believer" too!

I'm glad you enjoy SSR, though it is not our home resort, we never mind being "stuck" there. It is a beautiful resort and we love being close to DTD.

I'm always amazed by the references to "negative" feelings about SSR but have never found a thread directly promoting such an idea. I have read many posts stating that they don't find SSR to be negative and it is so beautiful. Where does everyone get the idea that there is something wrong with SSR?

It is one of those rumors of a rumor - one just can't hunt it down and kill it, let alone find it!

When SSR first opened there were many many negative posts about it - many of them from people who had never stayed there and just didn't think the size of the resort, the outside hallways, and the limited dining made for a good resort. Time has swung the comments to the other diirection and I am sure there are still people who do not care for SSR but at least the bashing has pretty much stopped. That is what is so great about DVC the differences in the resorts make it almost certain there is one that will be right for each individual and we have the opportunity to try them all. I have tried not to make any assumptions based on other reports (especially negative ones) and just judge for myself. So glad you liked SSR - We have enjoyed every stay there so far.

SSR is our home resort and we love it! We have stayed at BW and BC and the location is nice, but we love being so close to DTD, we always ask for Congress Park so that we have a nice short walk over. The view is gorgeous and the pools. The only thing it is lacking in is the food area, but with DTD so close and Earl of Sandwich (yum) nearby who cares!

Yup - it got so nasty that there were people that got banned from the boards. Once they were gone, the super-uber-nasty threads stopped. The DVC boards are a really respectful and friendly place now - and have been for the past several years.

Yes I am super happy to have found out on my own . Although I don't usually listen to bad reports as I have found many to be incorrect. But maybe the shear size of the resort scared us a bit. But this vacation plan was so quick it was the only thing available, not surprizing the bellman told me there are 1000 rooms here, You would never know it.

My DH usually love OKW as do I but we (my DD & I ) are happily planning our next trip @ SSR (behind DH's back) awh he'll find out soon enough!

I'm glad you enjoyed it. We love SSR for different reasons than we love AKV or VGC (or any other DVC property for that matter). Each one is somewhat unique, and has its' own special flair. An SSR stay is different than others - and for us - that's a good thing. We like mixing it up a bit and definitely aren't "same place every single time" kind of folks (except for the greater aspect of being at WDW of course! ) If we wanted that - we'd just buy a cabin in the woods and return there year after year after year after year.... BUT, we have our little cabin in the woods right there at SSR with the THV's. LOVE, love, love that option as well.
