I am sure this is posted here somewhere, but I have had no luck finding it. We are booked in a studio March 9-13. What location should we be requesting?? We are myself, dh, dd-15 and ds-12 We won't have a car and will be relying on transportation. Most likely spend a couple of days at the parks (Magic Kingdom, Studios and Epcot) and some time lounging by the pool and strolling DTD.

Thanks in advance to all you experts!

Ok, I just stayed at SSR once, but I'll put in my 2 cents. Lots of people would say Congress Park for its DTD views and walkability to DTD. However, we loved the Grandstand section. It has its own pool, but it is an easy walk to the main pool & other amenities (including the boat to DTD). Since you are using Disney transportation, you can appreciate that the Grandstand is the first bus stop. We always got a seat heading out, and we were the first to get off coming back to the resort.

HTH!

We stayed in the Grandstand section this past January and it was great! Short walk to main building and pool, it has it's own themed pool, and is the first stop for busses. This is a major plus considering how expansive the resort is.

We have stayed in all but Carousel and our favorite is Congress Park.

If you don't mind a longer walk to the main section, Congress Park. It's an easy walk to DTD and if you want a DTD view, be sure to request that. I've stayed in CP and had a lovely view of the walkway/parking lot. Just requesting the section does not automatically get you the view.

I've stayed at Carousel, Grandstand and Congress Park. I love and use the balconies and my favorite location is Congress Park, DTD view. We've had that same view 3 times and it's beautiful during the day but even better at night. Congress Park is a nice walk to/from DTD, it also has it's own pool and yet it's only about 10-15 minutes walk to the main pool, restaurant and boat dock.

If Congress Park were unavailable I wouldn't mind any of the other locations, but I would prefer not to be in Carousel, it's remote and drab and I've had a view of the parking lot and road both times I stayed there!

I think all except Carousel are great and have added benis! (While Pad is under constuction I would avoid, but once open again :thumbsup2.)

CP = DTD walk and view close to main pool, mug refills close
Springs = close to food, pool (Mug refills easy)
GS = pool, splash area, food

Everything except Car. has a bus stop very close, and pool easy walk.

I vote ask for 2 Either CP and Spr or GS and CP, as if they are full you are not in Car.

GL :wizard: YOU WILL ove any room, building you get.

Another vote for the grandstand from me.:thumbsup2 We stayed here just last week and it was really close to the main building. The pool at the grandstand is nice and has it's own bar too.

We've stayed at the paddock and the springs before, but i liked the grandstand most of all. :)

A couple of other posters have described it pretty well - you family would be good candidates for several sections. Given the ages of your kids, CP and the view and access to DTD would likely be desirable. You also mention that you lack transportation, and the Grandstand section is indeed first on the bus route, and has a nicer, though younger-child friendly pool area. The Springs is not as advantageous for transportation, but does have close access to dining and the feature pool. You'll have to prioritize which feature is most important in order to decide which area to reserve.

I stayed at Congress Park last August, and it was nice and quit. Unfortunately the view of DTD was blocked by a big tree outside the window..

Their was a very nice "quit" in the area, but I'm not sure that would be what your kids would be interested. Personally I would request an area near the bigger pool complex when my son is older.
