Had the opportunity to attend the MNSSHP over Halloween weekend but due to the heavy demand, ended up splitting my stay between SSR and BWV. Our home resort is BCV but it was booked solid.
Here is what we noticed and this is the first time we stayed in Studios versus one bedrooms:
SSR
Huge property. Most entry ways are more concrete outer covered walkways and stair wells. No hallways.
Rooms are a good size and the tVs were standard tube types. The room was nicely furnished but was not anything significantly different than the BWV studio (except newer furniture and the counters were a nicely done granite).
My DS14 slept on the fold out couch (Studio) and later told us that it was much harder than the one at BWV.
Bus service was fine, no problems. Overall, it just felt too large a complex. We are obviously spoiled by the BCV / BWV location.
View was of DTD which was very nice.
BWV
As you are looking at the property from the lake side, the extreme left side is completely refurburshed and they are now working on the section to the immediate right of the Lobby. Unfortunately we did not get a renovated room.
Only thing we noticed was that the light fixture in the bathroom ceiling was hanging down I guess after a bulb replacement. The lights in there were the energy type which took forever to get bright enough to actually find the toilet.
TV was a very small 19 inch tube type which looked very out of place in a much larger cabinet.
Fold out couch was almost impossible to put back unless you lift weights every day. Gad!
View was of the pool area which we enjoyed (room 2080 - first hallway before the elevators).
Considering the amount of activities in the BWV area and the ability to walk to EPCOT and DHS we would most likely stay in this area in the future. While SSR is nice, it just seemed to far out in the woods for us.
PS: also attended the Food & Wine Festival. Loved Germany - Nurenburger hotdogs and another potato dish I cannot pronounce. Also like the Irish Lave Cake but come on!!!! It was about the size of a piece of candy for 4 bucks.
