SSR Treehouse Villas - Just Searched 15 Pages

Hi.
Is there a dedicated thread to SSR Treehouse Villas? I just looked at the last 15 pages to try to find out.
I just booked for December 26-January 1 and very excited.
I know they are far from the main SSR area but we really wanted three bedrooms. There are five of us.
Is DTD walkable from Treehouses? We are a family of 5. Two 22 year olds and one 18 year old.
We will have a car but wanted to be onsite (we also own at Orange Lake) since if the kids waned to
be at DTD or at a park through the early morning hours, they can take a bus back without our having to get them or Uber.

The treehouse are not walkable to Disney Springs, really. Not reasonably. There is a boat that goes there, however.

Thank you. I can take a boat to DS from THV? Is that correct?
Can I walk to SSR from THV?
Hope I didn't make a mistake booking THV instead of a 2 bedroom at SSR.

You can walk to the Grandstand from THV, and the Springs (at Saratoga, not Disney Springs) are a bit further. But the THV are on the far end of the resort, making them the farthest area from Disney Springs, and a decent walk to most of the SSR "central" services, like the feature pools, restaurants and amenities.

Yes, there is a boat dock at THV to take you to DS. If I remember correctly, it stops at SSR Carriage House first then goes on to DS. We enjoy taking the boat to DS when we stay at THV. Its very convenient.

We were in a THV that was on the south end by the THV pool. If you were in one closer to the road that will add a little more distance a few more minutes. The walk was slightly over 1/2 miles (.56) from our THV all the way in to the food service area of the Carriage House and it took me 9 1/2 minutes. I also timed the boat run - from boat departing Carriage house to the time we arrived at our THV which was also very close to the dock and that took 9 minutes. You would then have the standard travel to DS from there either via boat or walking. The internal bus ran by very consistently and frequently.

You can try, but any request is subject to availability and other requests.

Yes, you can make requests. I had request a villa close to the boat dock and that is what we were given but, as mentioned, a request is just that and not guaranteed.

I went to front desk really early on check-in day and requested a THV close to the walking path to main resort. They had a THV ready for us at 7:30am, but we had to wait until later in the day for a THV near the location I requested to become available. All you can do is request. It worked out for us in this case.

I understand my request is just that..a request.
I won't be getting in, though, until later in the evening so going to the front desk won't be an option, although
I guess I could call...hhhmmm, didn't think about that until now.

I guess I will ask for a Treehouse close to the boat dock since my two 22 year olds and 18 year old will be using it for DTD.

ps, have any of you been over NYE? Did SSR have a countdown or party? Did you go to DTD?

Calls to the resort go to a call center and aren't an effective way to do, well, anything.

Use the member website contact form to make all room/location requests. MS will add the request to the reservation and email you an acknowledgment.

Google maps shows that there is a walking path that goes from THV to the golf course and on to the west end of Disney springs. where the house of blues is. Not sure how long the walk would be and you certainly would want to request a tree house close to that trail, but worth looking on google maps...

ETA: maps says it is a 20 min walk to the house of blues using the path. And that's starting from the gate house so if you are at a treehouse closer to the path, it will be less

I hope one or two of your kids are short because the third bedroom has a set of bunk beds. They are not as big as a twin bed. So a bit shorter and narrower.

Thank you. My dd-22 is about 5'2 or 5'3 I will put her in there since my ds-18 is 6'4"
