anybody know if there is a boat and what time it stops running in the evening. would like to see if eating late at Okw or Port Orleans would be an option if staying at SSR.

You can take the boat from SSR to OKW. I assume it stops running when the boat to DTD stops (it's all the same loop), which I believe was 11:30pm.

We are staying at OKW for the first time in May. It sounds like I'm hearing there is a boat to SSR and DTD from OKW (I also think I saw that on the DVC website) and I just want to confirm. Is this true?

Yup. We stayed at SSR 2 weeks ago and we took the boat a few times to DTD...just a hop skip & jump. We tried to take it to OKW for dinner one night and they stopped running 'cause of the cold (it was only in the high 40s...being from Boston, I honestly don't know what the big deal was...)
It's a very pleasant alternative to the busy buses!

I enjoy taking the boats when I can.

Regarding the SSR boat. I didn't know there was one. Where did it leave from? I didn't see one when we were there last weekend. We would have definitely used it if we had known about it.

The easiest way to get to the boat dock is to go out the back door of the Turf Club (there is an outdoor deck and stairs that go down to the dock).

I agree it is kind of hidden. We asked the CM in the lobby. We went through the corridor at the back of the gift shop area, it takes you to the same balcony the other poster mentioned. You then go down the stairs to the dock. That is also where they were "hiding" the horse drawn carriage. My DH whisked my DD3 away one evening for a carriage ride and she LOVED IT! The driver was saying they hadn't had much business yet (it had just started the week we were there) but he was griping about the location being too out of the way. We agreed.

I didn't know they had started the carriage rides. I was curious what the ride route was and how they were going to keep on top of the obvious upkeep horses require in the cleanup department. Oh yeah, how much is the cost? :hyper2:
