I remember reading here several months back about how to change the thermostat setting in the room. As it is now the thermostat is set at various tempertures throughout the day. We have tried on numerous times to change the settings but they return to thier original setting. Does anyone remember anything on this topic of changing the temperture settings?????

When we were down there in June, my DH and I were sitting in our 1-bedroom and the air conditioning wouldn't shut off, so we called maintenance. They were there in 5 minutes. Somehow, he fixed it so it would run and then shut itself off. It was wonderful and he was great. Wish I could remember his name.

Right now it would be nice to have some of that cool air in Illinois.

here's one solution i copied from some thread:

On the thermostat, push the power button and the down arrow (that adjusts the temp) at the exact same time. If you do this correctly there will be the letters "bp" where the temp numbers usually are. You are now bypassing the sensors in the room. You can then set the temp to whatever you want and it keeps the room that cold whether you are in it, moving around or not. You may have to do this once a day as the thermostat tends to go back to sensor mode after 24 hours.

OKW thermostats didn't have a power button ... only buttons they had were Up/Down Arrows ... it seems that different rooms have different thermostats. I think this was a 2200.

I didn't think OKW thermostats were the ones with the sensors are they? We never had an issue w/temp at OKW. :confused3

I didn't think so either, but this last trip, it kept resetting itself ... :confused3

Don't know if this helps any but...

Do the OKW ones have a "hold" button.

In our old house we had a programmable thermostat. If you wanted to temporarily adjust the current programed setting you would use the up or down to select the desired temp then press "hold" & it would stay at that temp until the next program cycle start time occured.

Unfortunately, the one in our Villa did not ... the one I have at home does though ... ;)

This one only had up and down arrows ... that was it ... everything else was a toggle switch. :confused3
