SSR studio kitchenette supplies question

Hi all,

I got upgraded to SSR from POP, and I'm thrilled! Now I need to change my packing list around a bit. I'm planning to have breakfast in the room most mornings (cereal/milk), and might do a load of laundry while we're there, and thinking through what I'll need to bring.

So, a question for those who've stayed in SSR studios: Do the kitchenettes include any bowls, spoons, etc (plastic or otherwise)? Is there dishwashing soap? Do they provide laundry detergent to Studios for use in the common-area washers?

You can check on the DVC web site, or scroll down the DIS to the DVC sections. There was some dishwashing soap, and I think, 4 place settings of silverware and dinnerware. There wasn't any laundry soap, because there wasn't a washer-dryer in the studio. I can't remember if it was free in the laundry area or not.

The laundry soap is not free but it is free to do you laundry. (If you were in a one bedroom you would get a free laundry soap.)

When we stayed there in May, in our studio we had:

small bottle of Palmolive dishwashing soap
disposable plates & bowls
roll of paper towels
coffee packet

I can't remember what else

Thanks, that's useful to know that there's place settings. I looked at the SSR page on the DVC web site, and also poked around the DVC forums here, but couldn't find specifics on supplies anywhere.

I think what you need to keep in mind is that usually when you are on DVC points you just get it when you check in and then trash and towel on day 4, I'm fairly certain that since you are paying you'll get a full cleaning every day and the paper products & coffee will be replaced daily.

Studios have a microwave, coffee maker, toaster, under-counter refrigerator, hard plastic cups and glasses (to wash and reuse), paper plates, bowls, plastic silverware, paper towels, can opener, small bottle of Palmolive with a scrub sponge and a dishtowel. There was also an ice bucket and the small glass glasses like you get in the hotel rooms. We booked through Disney, so we had housekeeping every day and they did replace coffee, plates/bowls, silverware, and dish washing liquid as needed.

Paying guests will get supplies daily with a room cleaning. Detergent is available to purchase at the laundry or you can bring your own.

My (unasked for) 2 cents.................

If you're picky about your coffee, bring some from home, along with flat-bottom filters. If you're not, then the coffee packets will be fine.
(BTW, the coffee pots are the large 8-12 cup ones, not the 4-cuppers.)

Hi, we got upgraded as well to SSR from POP. from 8/26-9/1 for 2 room to 2 , 1 bedroom villas we are so excited we all screamed, this IS a year of a million dreams!
