I have been looking on the resort forum for SSR (as well as other sites) and there is not much there. I was hoping that any of you who have stayed there could give me more info on the resort

eg best room, do they provide towels, mousekeeping etc etc

Any kind of overview/tidbits would be really helpful.

Thanks.

You could probably find out more from the DVC forums.

We had a tour around SSR last August, before ultimately deciding not to buy DVC.

It is new, quiet and the rooms (in my opinion) certainly nicer than those at BWV where we stayed last year.

The only downside (for me) is the whole resort is massive and spread out over a vast area.
There are I believe 5 different villa areas, Carousel, Paddock, Springs, Congress Park and Grandstand.

Springs is closer to the main pool and hub of the resort, Congress is nearer DTD and Grandstand is the newest.
You can catch a boat to DTD and also walk, approx 10 minutes or so from Congress villa location.

Both Congress and Grandstand have their own quiet pools too.

There is a restaurant there called Artiste's Palette and restaurant/bar called Turf Club.
Main pool area is very nice with a zero depth entry.

Sure others can help more than me as we haven't actually stayed there.

I know I'd already posted links to my walking around Saratoga Springs/DD photos on that thread - and I thought someone had photos also of the inside of the units. What specifically do you want to know (and definitely, the DVC board is the best for that!)

I look at you walking photos and they were great. I guess I interested in the more practical side of the resort

I would like to know

Services they offer (do i need to bring towels) etc

What is the best room location if you want to face DTD, be near the main pool and reception areas

Whats the bus service like

What rooms/blocks to avoid

Mousekeeping services

Basically everything there is to know about the resort.

They have towels - just like all resorts. I would just ask for a DD view, though a lot of people do ask for that. Mousekeeping is daily unless you are DVC (or renting points) - then it's twice a week.

This is the best place to go for info (you can get a lot there!!!): http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=119

Hi again,

Congress Park is where you need to be if you want to face DTD.

If you want to be closest to the main pool and reception, then Springs is the nearest.

Springs is sort of central, with Grandstand and Congress either side.

Personally, if I was staying there Carousel and Paddocks would be less appealing as they are further away, possibly quieter but maybe a touch isolated too.
