Wood floors in the studio or is that vinyl that looks like wood?

Looks like vinyl which is what they've put in all the other refurbs.

I have owned at SSR for nine years but have never stayed there. With this refurb and with Disney Springs becoming what it has I can’t wait to stay there on my next visit.

Yes the 1 and 2 beds have the under TV single murphy. The studios do not.
I am also looking forward to a 1 bed there, especially given the 5 sleep surfaces.

Can you tell us what techniques you used to attempt to get assigned to Congress Park and to one of the refurbed rooms?

Technically they have "allowed" 5 for many years. However, once rooms are renovated, they will actually sleep 5 people with the addition of the pull-down twin.

A handful of renovated rooms are open now. It will take nearly 2 years to complete the entire resort.

Does anyone know the current status of construction? I have a split stay that starts on Thanksgiving and I currently have 2 reservations for Dec 3-8: POFQ and SSR Preferred Studio (cash). I’ve been stalking Disney reservations for availability and SSR suddenly opened up earlier this week. It was Preferred Studios and 1 Bedrooms only, so I’m assuming that they’re ahead of schedule with Congress Park renovations. I love POFQ, but am really excited at the idea of staying at SSR and having such an easy walk to Disney Springs . . . But I’m afraid to walk into a construction zone and regret my decision. Is anyone able to ease my fears so I can cancel POFQ?

Both OKW and SSR have the benefit of stand alone buildings and that is how they section off for the renovations. It could be that one part of the parking lot close to you might be housing equipment but it would never happen that the building you are in would have parts of it being renovated. At worst it might be a building close to you which for me isn't really an interference.

I am so happy they kept the ceiling fan in the bedroom. It is cool looking, and I’m glad that it will still cool me.
