Hi has anyone heard if they are going to be changing the decor or putting in flat screen TVs in the next year ?
Thinking of staying here next summer, but am not keen on paying that much for a room with old type tvs and I'm not keen on the brown swirly bedding. I like everything else about the resort though :)

Interesting - I've never picked a resort by the type of TV or bed coverings. I must be amenity challenged! :confused3

Haven't heard of any renovations, but I didn't remember that SSR didn't have flat screen TVs.

.

I'm right there with you. The TV is the last of the things that are in consideration when I make a reservation.

I agree, I could care less. Maybe because I don't own a flat screen TV at home (gasp!). When my TV breaks, I'll buy one but I can't see throwing out a perfectly good TV. The flat screens they did put in are small anyway, I don't see much of a difference.

When I am on vacation it does not bother me either but yes I am sure they will gradually replace all the TVs.

Bedspreads will probably be changed in the upcoming rehabs but it will probably be something, that will not appeal to everyone anyway. Based on the bedspreads given to OKW I don't have much hope of them being anything great.

They come off the bed as soon as we arrive and folded and put away and my favorite blanket from home goes on the bed, so what they have really does not matter.

As an owner, the type of TV does not really bother me, because I know there's a cost, billed to me in my dues, associated with an upgrade.
(Although LCD tv's use less electricity than CRT's, so there may be a missed opportunity if we do not upgrade)

However, if the OP is a cash guest, I understand his point. If I were choosing between 2 hotels in another town, and I knew one was more recently upgraded, I would choose the "newer" one if cost/room type was the same.

In this day and age, how can this be? I'm with you, I don't replace anything until it breaks! My last stay at SSR, Thanksgiving last year, we had a flat screen in the living room but not in the master and I don't know what they had in the second bedroom.

The thing I've found consistant at SSR, at least for me, the villas are always very clean and smell fresh, that's what stands out most and in the end is most important to me. The bedspread, no matter the resort, I fold up and store in the closet. Way to heavy!

I am just back from Saratoga. I was in Congress Park . There was a flat TV in my studio.

We just got one too, because our old tv broke. In this economcy my mantra if it is not broke, or can be fixed at a resonable price, it does not get replaced.
