SSR REFURBISHMENT

So what is the best option to pick for the online check-in service? Or is better to wait to check in until we are there at the front desk? We are staying a DVC studio and are after a new refurbished room! We stayed at SSR in December and ended up in a smoke-filled, old room (family has respiratory issues so it turned into quite a hassle and having to move to the other side of the resort!). Just hoping to start off with the best option!!

According to DVC news on Friday, the 3 remaining “old” buildings are now being refurbished.

hi. what's the status on the renos? Also, if the 3 remaining bldgs are being renovated does that mean if staying in July, we would only get a new room as all others are in process?

The last two buildings are being renovated now, so in July you’ll definitely be in a refurbished room.

Except there was a post of someone staying in Carousel within the past week or two that was not in a refurbished room, so that section must not be complete either.

Ooops! I just told someone a week a week ago on FB that it was impossible to get an un-refurbished room now.

(Just my luck this is probably where they'll get assigned...someone staying at Disney is cursing my FB profile name right now)

That was back in March. I haven’t heard of anyone in the past several weeks say they have been in an un-refurbished room. I think all signs point to the last section being closed now, so you may not have steered them wrong.

so, can someone confirm that Carousel is closed now and that's the last to be renovated. I don't want any chance of not getting the extra bed.

I had read all unrefurb were being worked on so I agree with the above that even if you wanted an unrefurb room, you can't get it and once they confirm completion of these final buildings, the entire resort is completed. I don't think SSR is going to truely sell out until maybe a few nights around the 50th or super popular holiday times right? Or is it/do we think it will sell out on some random Tue night in Nov or Dec?

I can confirm it! We were in Paddock building 45, directly across the street from Carousel, June 4-11, and both buildings are closed and being worked on.

Last I looked most of November is completely booked. Random day here and there for 1 and 2 bedrooms
