SSR Referral?

I am traveling to DW for the week of March 19th. I plan on calling my guide to discuss DVC tomorrow with my trip. Any specials out there available, I know there was at one time a discount with referrals. from current members, or a portion of my coming vacation that I can applie to purchase DVC.

Anything out there?

Not sure about a referral discount.

If you are currently not a DVC Member the only resort for sale is SSR. The incentive right now is $10 off per point and based upon what use year you get you'll get 2006 points as well.

If you are a member presently, that SSR incentive is availalbe as well as AKV $8 off per point of Developer's Points.

If I were you, I would get on the resale list for TTS and at least educate yourself about the going rate on the secondary market before you go. The main (if only) advantage to buying from Disney directly is that you save time and get access to the points, literally, in days, to make your first reservation. If you are already going down there (and therefore you don't have a time urgency in getting access to points to make a reservation) I would strongly recommend that you at least consider the secondary market. There are a bunch of folks out there - we just bought from TTS and I would recommend them... but if you go secondary, I would say go with a REPUTABLE outfit like TTS or one of the other sellers that is frequently mentioned on this list. Don't go with an unknown or someone not in the business of dealing with DVC.

Yes, be sure to weigh all your options. Disney vs Resellers are now comparable pricing per pt and interest rates for financing ...SSR, BW, WL, BC..

What is not shared from reseller posts (even on the DIS, ROFR thread) is..the "actual price paid, including extra fees"...wich overall increases your paid price per pt.
Closing fees range from $400.-$1,000....sales commission..getting your own financing..who pays MF...who pays closing..lack/addition of initial pts....then waiting to pass Disney's ROFR...
