SSR Question

Since parking at SSR is near the rooms, unlike at other DVC properties, does anyone know if luggage carts are available? If not, is bell service still available?

Actually OKW is basically the same layout.

Both resorts have motorized carts to take you and your belongings from the front desk to your room.

This will be our first DVC stay so we have not experienced OKW yet either. Since we'll have a car, I assume we'll drive to near our building but wondered if there was anything at the building to help us transport our luggage?

I'm certain you could leave your luggage with Bell Services and ask them to deliver while you drive to the room.

If you decide to handle it yourself, each building does have an elevator. However, the buildings are fairly large and there's no guarantee you will be right nearby. Consider adding a "first floor" or "near elevator" request to your reservation if necessary.

The parking lots are right beside each building. Imagine pulling into a Wal Mart and you're 2 or 3 spaces from the front. That's about the longest walk you would have to make with your luggage to reach the building itself. From there, it's just a question of how far you need to go to get to your actual room.

Much appreciated! I was just hoping to avoid the multiple trips necessary for a week's stay. Guess we'll use bell services if there are no luggage racks to help unload.

We were just there last week and we did not see any luggage carts. The parking lot is close but unless you leave the luggage with bell services at check in you will be on your own.

The buildings are set up in a way that none of the villas are far from the elevator.

There were no luggage carts there in June, but I wish they had one at each building!

Sadly, though, how long do you think they would stay there? At worst, someone would steal one; at best, we would see them zooming down the streets and cart paths with a few dozen kids hanging on.
