Yeah, I heard about the GS sprayer area refurb too - I am also anxious to find out when it will reopen and what it will be like!

I doubt the front desk would know, but it might not hurt to ask. I'm just going to keep an eye out for posts about it, and I'll ask again closer to our trip (Oct).

Well I saw someone post live pictures from the GS and the splash area definatley looked closed. My kids so enjoy that area but if it's not open I'll push for Congress at check in.

still would go with GS - it is very close to the main pool and is the first bus stop.

I am at SSR right now and have asked at the front desk and at the Backstretch Pool Bar (at the Grandstand Pool) and nobody knew when it would reopen.

Hrm Didn't know it's been closed that long. Wondering if its not a rehab and maybe a problem they can't fix? I vaguely recall Donald Duck in the main pool area was broken for quite a while after one of the hurricanes.

It was open. We stayed in Grandstand and it was open.

I hope someone can give us some news on when the Grand Stand play area will be open....We are going in August and I am not looking forward to breaking the bad news to my kids that the water play area will be closed...Waiting for some GOOD news...

I agree, I was specifically hoping to let the kids play in that area! Please if anyone down there now could find out info I would be sooooo greatful. We leave Aug 23. Totally bad luck, if it is closed.

A little side story: last year, my 2 year old spent a few weeks falling alseep for here nap staring at the pic of the donald play area in the Dreams book. She would say, "I play with Donald!" You would not believe it but the DAY BEFORE we arrived some older kid was sitting on Donald's beak and decapitated him! No Donald the entire time we were at the resort and it sounds like for quite awhile after. She stills talks about going to play with Donald but I was hoping for the spray area too!

Oh man...where were the kids' parents???? That's terrible. Your poor baby! I am heading down in August too...and my kids are all hyped up after seeing the Donald Picture in the dream book.

Was there today and the splash area is open but not on, if that makes sense. The construction walls are down and it looks the same except the flooring is new. I asked at the front desk and the man said it should be turned back on soon. The flooring was resurfaced and needs to cure in the sun before the water gets turned back on, or so he said. But since it is raining, I wonder what that means. I hope they turn it back on soon since my boys LOVE it!!!!
