SSR Question-Add-on/Point usage

We are in the final DW/DH discussions over whether to add-on at SSR. We have a few questions that we would like answeredif possible. I wanted to have an idea of he answers before calling my guide.

If you buy SSR this month can you get a Setember use year? If so do you get the points right away or do you have to wait for the resort to open? We would like to use them next year for another resort and stay at SSR in 2005.

I believe the first use year they are offering for SSR is December.

What is your use year now?

I read last night that they have now moved to selling Feb. use year.

GOod question! I khow they always make you buy the same use year you have, but do you have to wait for an add on with that use year?

If you get a Sept use year, you will not gets points until 2004. You could use the points at SSR for next year making reservaitons starting 1 Dec but I don't think you'll be able to use them at a different resort until Feb unless you take the developer points option instead of the price reduction.

When I bought SSR week before last (my first DVC purchase) I selected June use year. I did not have to take December, I could choose any use year. When I added on yesterday at BWC I had to stay with the June UY. If you want September UY then you will not get points until Sept 2004, but you can make a ressie with them as of Dec. 1, 2003. The maintenance fees for 2004 at SSR will be prorated this one time since it is new to whatever UY you choose. If you choose Sept. then you will not pay MF for Dec. 2003-Aug. 2004. My maintenance fees do not start until June because that is my UY. This is the only year that will work, however. Starting 2005 we will pay the entire 12 month MF in January like everyone else.

As stated, with a September use year, you would get your 1st set of points in Sept 2004. If you wanted to use those points before Sept 2004, you could borrow. You cannot use SSR points for any reservation at any DVC resort for a period prior to SSR's actual opening in May 2004. (eg, you cannot vacation at BWV or OKW using SSR points in March or April 2004).

Hi,
My guide is on vacation, Byron, so I talked to Randy today. He said that if you are Financing the purchase of your SSR add-on w/Disney then you do not pay interest or principle until next May/June. We are adding on a September use year so we will not pay dues until next Sept. This make the add-on even more interesting/Attractive to us. We can now pay off our initial purchase before even starting the add-on payments.
Plus you get the $10 off per point and get to keep your points

Now I have add-on fever

Do you have to add 100 points to get the $79 price? Or can you add less? Does anyone know off hand?

The $10 incentive is for purchases of 100 or more points. For an add on of less than 100 points, the cost is still $89 per point.
