Hi, Thinking about joining DVC. The website has this "special promotion" going on now. Does anyone know any additional details? Is there an additional discount if you are referred by a current DVC member? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. :wave2:

The only discount available right now is the $8/point discount. In fact, they still charge the full $98/point, and then apply the $8/point toward your down payment.

I believe the price is $98 w/$8 off = $90/pt. There is no referral discount at present and the price is supposed to go up next month. Don't know if they will have another promo going?
Good Luck!

They had a friends and family discount that brought it up to 15% with a referral but they did away with it on Feb 1st. Have not seen anyone post anything else since. Referrals get something depending on how many people you send to DVC. If you need a referral for a promotion feel free to get back to me.

Units that are selling now are October Use Year. You get 2005 points no MF, 2006 are prorated to the date you join. $98 per point minus $8 incentive. They also have BWV at $92 per point.

Thanks everyone for the information. I have a lot of research to do. I guess talking to a DVC rep would be a good first start. Plus I've heard lots of good things about the resale market through the Timeshare Store. :thumbsup2

So, add-ons are currently $92 per point?

Any location on the maint. fees per resort?

When we went for our DVC "tour" our guide said that the promotion was an "on vacation" promotion, and to get the $8 off, we needed to buy then. Is this true?
TIA

I've heard this from others that bought in while at WDW. I believe that if a couple goes they must buy in right then and there to get the discount. If only one spouse goes then there is a 3 day expiration on the offer. So, if you call a Disney Rep to buy they won't let you have the discount b/c they will see your name in the computer and that you attended a presentation.

The promotion is that anyone interested in this resort will be given double points and a night out with the super model of there choice. Laugh all you want, they have to do something to move this crushing burden of unused points. Just wait, you'll see.

Actually, that is wrong. There is currently a 15% discount now for DL AP holders, with the discount taken off the new $101/point rate. This discount is good through mid-April.

I was told by 2 DVC Guides that a new SSR promo starts today. I won't be talking to my Guide until tomorrow. Anyone know the details today, so I can start thinking about what I want to do?

You are correct about the new promo-at least from what I have been told. Please forgive the shaky details-I know that members should be getting an email or letter soon. It seems that owners can get the $8 off for less points now (50 or 100 levels) and that some freebies could be thrown in (limited passes etc..) Maybe someone could get clearer info in the morning since I was not that awake today when I got it.

I did not hear about any other non-owner offers though.

We just did our $500 deposit, with the rest being paid soon. I think we are doing the $8 off a point thing plus this year points and next year's in Oct. Not sure, since DH is the one handling it.

I just joined DVC today

My guide is Steve Tinn and he said currently if you add on 130 points as a current DVC owner they are giving an annual pass as a bonus- not sure if it is one pass or more. If you add 30 -50 points you get two day passes to the Parks.

We are ver excited and just returned from Disney today - We left Friday am and drove 22 hours (live in Canada). We were told we had 72 hours from the day we checked out to take advantage of the Saratoga springs discout of $8 per point added to the down payment plus you get 2005 points with the dues already paid.
We'll be going again in December for almost 4 weeks - 1 week I am renting points from a DVC member and staying at OKW - 1 bedroom, then 10 days on the X-mas cruise and then another week over New Years at SSR in a one bedroom on the new points I just bought.

Very exciting!

is this promotion only for SSR or does it apply to add ons at other resorts?

When I took the DVC tour two weeks ago, I went alone. My wife stayed back at the hotel to nap. I was told if we had taken the tour together, we had three days. Since I took the tour alone, they gave me unitl the end of the month.. Basically four weeks to accept or decline.
