I have seen pictures of SSR with a pool area that has red tents around it a water jets.
What section is this in?
I know it is not the main pool because I saw that on the DVC tour.

We are going in October and I think the kids would like this pool as much as the main pool.
Also does it have a bar at the pool?

Yes it has a pool bar. And as said, it's the Grandstand pool. Smaller than the main pool but has a larger water play area too.

It's a short walk from the Carriage House too. Just follow the walkway to the left of Bell Services.

The Granstand pool is excellent. The splash area for kids is wonderful.
The only advantage of High Rock Springs in the "zero entry"

We spent our whole vacation last time at the Grandtand Pool/Play area. It was perfexct for us. We had 7 kids ages 1-9 in our group and they ALL loved it. The regular pool there si nice and the play area is a god send. And the bar was pretty darn nice and convenient too!!! ENJOY!

Do the pool bars have any type of snack items - chips, popcorn, etc? Alos do they sell non-alcoholice beverages - iced tea, lemonade, soda??

Thanks!!

We just got back yesterday from SSR. We stayed in the Grandstand section. It was great! They do have non-alcoholic beverages and snacks at that pool. They even have PB & J sandwiches for the kids. Our kids loved playing in that pool rather than the large pool. Hope you have a great time.

LOVE the grandstand. Lived at that pool this summer. Great to go to at like, 11 at night and just hang out. Course, the bennies are closed by then, but good in the afternoon, too!

Yes they have snacks, but to save $$$$$ bring your own! The refillable mugs work there too, worth the expense (now 12.95 each) if you are going to SSR for several days, we use them all the time, coffee in the AM, then soft drinks by the pool.

OK, so I saw someone mention they saw pics of the Grandstand. Could anyone give me a link to these pics or show me them on this thread? We're staying there at NYE and would like to see what it's like.

I sometimes get the impression that SSR would not be kid friendly - am I wrong ? Am thinking of a last minute trip and SSR seems to be one of my only options for DVC, but I'm worried about how that will be for my 4 yo DS. I know it's still Disney - but does it come close to the atmosphere you'd get at BCV (stayed there last year). Talk me into booking SSR plzzzzzzzzzzzzzz......

I think SSR would be great for a 4 yr old. Parklike grounds, kid friendly pools that aren't overwhelming for you to watch your child, lots of critters to look for and look at...we choose SSR because it was family friendly for our active family.

There are some good pics of the High Rock Pool and Grandstand Pool areas at SSR on another site allearsnet.com. I wasn't sure if they were copywrited, so I didn't want to inseart in this thread.

Once you get there, hit CTRL F and search on 'Grand Stand'. Swimming Pool I, Swimming Pool II, and Fountain Spray Area are good pics. Then query on 'High'. Good picks are High Rock Spring Pool - Zero Access Area and High Rock Spring Pool - Children's Area I are good pics.

Thanks for the reply - after looking at some more picks I'm starting to get excited about staying there !
