Hi:

Trying to figure out which resort would best suite our family's needs. We will have a 22 month old (active). We stayed at SSR last year in a 1 bedroom villa. She absolutely loved the splashpad. We pushed her pack 'n play into the walk-in closet and it worked out perfect - in case you want to flame , you can't close the door when you do this. It just 'tucked' her away at night. Can we do the same thing at BCV?

We love Epcot and thought that BCV might be worth exploring. SAB looks like something she might like. Is it too big? We like the zero entry idea.

One thing that is important, we do a lot of casual dining at the resort. We used Artist's Palette every day at SSR. Does BCV have the same type of thing? Groceries?

How do the two resorts compare from a toddler point of view.

Thanks in advance!

We,ve stayed at both and we liked SSR better, It was also a nice bonus to be able to walk over to DDT there are things over there for young ones to do. Our daughter has just turned 3.

We have never stayed at SSR, but we have stayed at BCV (and YC before becoming DVC members) for years. Your 2 y.o. will love playing in the sand at the BC! You can walk over to Epcot and the BW (and MGM if you are really inspired!) The BC store does now offer many things for quick meals. Groceries are also available. Plus you have Beaches & Cream and all that the BW has to offer. Any other questions, please ask! :)

The room layouts are basically the same so you should be all set with the pack and play etc. You might want to do a search for pictures of SAB and check out the sand bottom shallow pool that little ones seem to love. There is also a kiddie pool over by the shipwreck on the lake side of the sidewalk. I believe the food and grocerty selection at the BC marketplace is good although I have only had the gelato and did not pay much attention to the other items such as sandwiches etc. Maybe someone has some links to pictures of the pool area that they can post if it is allowed. I know there are some on other websites but don't know if we are supposed to post them. We have not stayed at BCV for a few years because of my trying to use points to the fullest so stayed at SSR and OKW(my favaorite resort anyway) to give us more days over Christmas and NY. I would definitely try BCV. You have the boardwalk area, the beach and pool and there are several places to get food.

Keep in mind you'll have to pay to visit those parks, and it'll cost you a TS for lunch at B&C's or about $50 to $60 for lunch. At DTD as DVC members we get 10% discount at most of the restaruants including Ghiraldis ice cream which blows B&C's away.
There are also playgrounds at SSR. Our 2 year old didn't care to play in the sand at the BC as it is like sandpaper and can be abrasive, especially if it gets in her suit.

I love BCV, but SSR is very nice too. Storm Along Bay can't be beat. It's got something for everyone, and is a very popular place.

Beaches and Cream is a fun place to have a lunch or light dinner, and there is Hannah's poolside too.

I like being within walking distance of EPCOT. It's a short shot directly to the IG and you are in. I even use that route (to the front of the Park) to get the monorail to go to the MK. I've an AP so that helps.

It's always fun to try a new place. You've quite a bit to choose from with DVC.

We pushed her pack 'n play into the walk-in closet and it worked out perfect - in case you want to flame , you can't close the door when you do this.

No flames here. I was planning on putting DS (18 months) in the closet and closing the door so he could feel like it was his own room. Oh well.

We will be staying at BWV this summer. I wanted the location since he will be falling asleep in his stroller a lot. Staying at BWV or BCV allows you to keep the sleeping baby in the stroller since you can walk to Epcot and MGM and stroll through Epcot to get to the monorail to MK. I would hate to have to pull him out of the stroller to get on a crowded bus if he was sleeping. He would surely wake up a start crying.

Personally (and we've stayed at BWV when DD was 5mo and SSR when she was a year), we love both resorts but thought it was much easier transportation/location when we were at the Epcot Resort area. Plus,it was nice to walk around Epcot at night with her asleep in the stroller. We missed being able to do that when we stayed at SSR.

And btw, I think the closet idea is a very good one!
