SSR Lovers and Owners Part 4

We're going to be staying at SSR in about 3 weeks time! (preferred room) Hope it's not too late to put in a room request? (though I didnt see any room in MDE to put in a request anymore?)

Been reading this and other SSR threads, and it seems like Congress Park is what everyone seems to pick. However, if we're going with a child (7 year old), is Congress Park the best option? Like all the other comments I like the more quiet/relaxed environment and the walking distance to DS.

However, there's no refill station or quick service option at Congress Park right? How long is the walk (each way) from Congress to the main building? And there's no slide in the Congress Park pool?

Would the Springs be the better pick (generally) for families with small children? And how busy/noisy would it be relative to other resorts? (we've been at the Contemporary and last year at WL).

Not too concerned about the bus situation since we normally uber/lyft in the mornings.
We love Congress Park for DS heavy trips but the pool is just a simple pool (with a lovely view). I prefer to be in Paddock for family trips so really I’d see if you can downgrade to standard and request Paddock. If not, I’d choose the Springs. Both the Paddock and Springs have good pools and are walkable between the two.

I think all sections are pretty quiet. I don’t remember having any noise issues when staying in any of the buildings in The Springs area.

Delighted to share that we have rebooked our canceled Feb. 25 trip to July 6-12 at a SSR 1 bedroom Villa. Looking forward to cooking in the kitchen and spreading out! We are usually in a studio. It is me, DH and DD (13). We have standard and have requested to be near the pool. Any tips for being at SSR in July?! Besides melting? Ha, ha. We will just jump from AC to AC but we can afford it at summer rates. DD is excited as this is her favorite resort. Looking forward to coming "home!"

I recommend the After Hours parties especially during the summer! It’s cooler and a lot easier than during the direct afternoon sun.

We did July last year, and had a great time despite it being very hot. We rope dropped in the morning and took mid-day breaks, where we showered, had a meal and put on clean clothing. We planned our park days to work with the Extended Evening hours at MK, and enjoyed a really late night there with cooler temps. Drink lots of water and hop into shops to cool off. We also planned our rides around the times of day, so indoor shows and rides at peak sun, and outdoor rides in the mornings / evenings. As far as SSR itself, maybe ask to be close to a bus stop? We had a room next to the Paddock Pool the last time we stayed in standard which was super convenient.
