SSR just OK

Stayed in room 8311 in the grandstand. As an owner at BLT i am surely biased. I love the grounds at almost all dis hotels and this one was no exception. Beautifully landcaped, wonderfull themed pools, great facades on buildings. Just wasnt blown away. Roomw as small as my Dfil in law pointed out. It was a 2 bed lockoff. Now i know the 2 bed at BLT mk view is bigger for sure but that didnt bother me. I had a king size bed. But it wasnt all that comfortable. As tired as we were that didnt matter though. Location was most inconvinient. Just far really from MK. And going there so much with a 3 yr old DS was a lot of travel. main building was great and i did like the proximity to it and LBV golf. Just not my favorite hotel. Next time i def get my 11 month window right. Which happens to be in about 2 weeks, LOL.

Allsaid and done, it is a great hotel and wonderfull setting, but as a BLT owner i am gonna have to be faithfull. lol.

It's funny that you say this because we are owners of both BLT and SSR. We love BLT and like SSR a lot. We stayed at SSR in January (1-bedroom) in the Congress Park section. We really enjoyed looking out our window and seeing DTD, and the walk there and back was great. We really liked everything about the resort...it is very pretty. However, we really didn't care for the buses there (too many stops). We will definitely be returning there for a stay (kids really want to try out the new Paddock pool), but we will be making sure we will be having our car when we do . As for BLT you really can't beat that resort, unless of course we were staying at BCV (our other favorite DVC resort ). Glad you had a nice trip.

i agre dtd was close. we always rent a car as we gind it easier. but we are spoiled. lol. nto snobs, just spoiled. lol.

I hear ya, we are in the same boat as you. We love walking to MK and back and having the monorail right there is a great perk. BLT was our first home resort when we initially became members (bought direct) and then last November we wanted to add on but didn't want to pay the over priced p/p so we added on to SSR. At first DH was a little skeptical because he doesn't like how spread out SSR is, but agreed because the p/p was much cheaper. He told our guide that BLT will always be our go to resort (it's our first love) and the SSR points are what we will use to stay at the other DVC resorts.
