SSR Gripes!

Posting can be tricky at times. I am curious why a general question from a relatively newbie on DIS was met with sarcasm by 2 posters with one being a moderator. Since I am "new" I can't "read" if it was "humorus" or just condescending for condescending sake.

Don't worry, Roxanne, you're not the first one those two have attacked in that manner. There was a poor woman named "firsttimer" asking questions about SSR on another thread, and she got the very same condescending treatment from the same two pompous boors.

I'm presuming that I'm one of the "pompous boors" who allegedly attacked firsttimer. It's peculiar, because I had to search for the particular posting to realize I never posted on that thread.

I regret the poster didn't understand my brand of humour. I did not realize her confusion and never intended to make fun of them -- rather it was my hope to have fun with what I understood to be a genuinely funny question. (i.e. asking about air conditioning on porches.)

Again, no malice was intended.

I personally did not see anyone attacking anyone in any of these posts. I saw an attempt at some humor that might not have been realized in its intent.

However I do think some are "way" too sensitive to participate in this type of open public forums. If you can't take other's opinions, including those that disagree and question yours; you will always be uncomfortable on this type of exchange.

I always find it interesting though that someone can berate others for what they percieve to be an attack on someone only to turn around and attack someone else. Kettle calling the pot black there, I think.

If I post any opinion and someone strongly disagrees with me I never see it as an attack, just a difference of opinion. I figure everyone can decide which opinion most matches their own.

There is not right or wrong when choosing a favorite resort, there are only differences. Personally I like them all for different reasons. None are perfect and none are bad.

You clearly were not one of the two to whom I was referring, since you didn't post on that thread. Why so sensitive?
If you read through the aforementioned thread, you will notice that the OP of that one felt that she and others were being treated "condescendingly" by others, who are posting on this thread as well, and getting much the same reaction. Coincidence? I doubt it.

We're at SSR right now and love it! I'm really surprised how much fun my wife is having, as I'm the Disney Nut in our family. We could have bought at BCV, but opted to wait for SSR....not realizing we got 50 years of vacation instead of 40.....we just felt SSR fit our family better. My wife can't wait for her massage and my DS who is 3 is enjoying all the activities at the Carriage House. Life is short, look for happiness.......there's plenty of misery out there!
