We booked SSR Dec. 18-22. Asked the DVC CM if I should request Grandstands in order to ensure a spot on the bus in the am. We have 3 DD's and you know how that pm bus ride can be. Currently, I have requested Springs. Any input would be great. Thank you!

The Springs is the LAST stop on the bus, so if you want a guaranteed spot, I would either walk to GrandStand or Congress Park, or move your request, which is only a request.

We have requested Congress Park every year, due to its close proximity to DTD and the bus isnt packed yet.

Only 1 year did we get Grandstand when we asked for Congress Park and that was because we rented a Grand Villa...I missed being close to DTD.

But, we were like the first ones on the bus.

Good luck

Kim

Let me answer your question with a question.

Are you going to eat breakfast in your room or at the parks more or are you going eat at Artist Pallet, If at Artist Pallet then the Springs would be best.

Do you plan on going to the pools? The pool at Grand Stand is much more kid oriented than at the Springs but the Springs has a great Slide.

I took me about 5 minutes to walk from the GrandStand Bus stop to the Springs Bus stop. The same time the bus took to drive it. We stayed in the Springs and loved it, but there were a couple of days, mainly MK days that the buses were full, so if getting a seat going is a major concern than yes The grandstand would be the best. but coming home that means you and your 3 plus stoller have to get out of the full bus first.

The walk from the close buildings of the Grandstand just isn't that much farther than from the Springs. And even from the farther buildings it's only 5 minutes or so more. To me, access to the Grandstand pool and first bus stop far outweighs the slightly shorter walk from the Springs to the main buildings.

Plus, the Grandstand units are newer, and more likely to be in better shape.

Considering that you will be visiting during a busy time, I'd request another area at SSR. We were there over Easter this year and by the time the buses got to the Springs stop, they were almost always full. :headache:

We didn't make a request and landed in the Paddock area. The Carousel stop (2nd stop on the route) was right outside our building and we always got a seat on the bus. :thumbsup2 We loved this location as we were only a short walk to the Carriage House and the main pool, had a great view and were right by a bus stop. :goodvibes

Grandstand for all the reasons listed above :thumbsup2.
But also because it's quieter! We had noise issues in the Springs when we stayed there.

We just got back from SSR and stayed at the Grandstand b/c of the bus issue. We never really had a full bus where people were standing in the am, and only a couple of times at night.

I loved the location. We were right in front of the pool there w/ the horse spray area for the kids. And it only took about 5 mins to walk to the main pool, artists palette, boat launch, community hall. It was great!

We have only been to SSR once and we were at GS. It was during springbreak and we never stood for the bus and liked being able to get off first after a long day at the parks. We enjoyed the pool (especially since the main pool was closed for almost our entire visit). We also enjoyed the walk to catch the boat to DTD. We ate in our room for almost every breakfast as well. Have a great time, wherever you end up. It was great there and we are hoping to enjoy Vero Beach as much in a few days!:cool1:
