SSR Grandstand locations

A little help please . We're heading down on 1/23 for 10 days @ SSR . I've read through several threads but still don't get a good sense of the Grandstand buildings.

We've always stayed at CP but have heard great comments about the GS area. Which building(s) afford the best views? We prefer water & woods and it appears that 8501-8836 would be a good location. Yes??

Is there any location in GS where you can also see DTD?

Any building and/or room suggestions will be much appreciated.

I do like the idea of the bus stop (first on, first off) and close proximity to the main buildings/pool.

We love the grandstand area and the pool. I usually request a room near the pool. The pool is close to the bus stop and a short walk to the main building (the Carriage house). I can't remember the number sequence near the pool, but I'm sure you could search and find a map on these boards. The grandstand doesn't face DTD. I think the only view choices are pool or golf course.

Rooms in the 8000's are closer to the pool the higher the number for the 9000's the further away you will be. In fact back in October we had the highest number room at SSR it was 9836 but had a great view of the golf course and was very quiet.

We have just returned from a 3 week holiday at Disney and stayed at SSR from 10th to 27th Dec. We were in room 8507 in the Grandstand and it was absolutely perfect. You could walk out to the Grandstand pool in less than a minute. 3 minutes walk to the main building and pool. Overlooked the golf course and completely secluded from any other room. Didn't even request this were just lucky enough to be allocated it. No view of DTD but a lovely surprise was that you could see the 9.30 Epcot fireworks from the patio which was great. If we stay here again I will definitely request this buidling. As you said, its first drop off when you come back from the parks.

We stayed in the building right in front of the pool in Grandstand. It was a wonderful location b/c it was also just a short pathway walk to the Carriage House and Hot Springs Pool. My kids loved the Grandstand pool with the water splash area. If we go back to SSR we will definetly request this area again!

We stayed at SSR for the first time the week after Thanksgiving. I had done alot of research on the Disboards regarding where to stay. I was really worried about the bus/transportation issue, but had gotten numerous recommendations to request the Grandstand building. We were VERY happy with our room! We stayed in room 8335, and had a view of the golf course. It was great having the pool right outside the building, and the best part was the bus stop! It was great being the first to be picked up/first to be dropped off. Our longest wait was the night of the Very Merry Christmas Party. I think we waited 25 for a bus, but it wasn't bad. We didn't get a chance to use the spa, but the resort was beautiful! We can't wait to go back next year!
