Has anyone eaten the food at SSR yet...? Is it a good value and is it tasty?

Also, any idea on how to make Spa ressies and anyone have a link to the services they offer? Thanks!

we had several meals at SSR in august and thought the food was good. it is worth a try. can not help w/spa reservations. :teleport: :earboy2:

During our Oct/Nov trip we found it to be less than average in taste and the service was dreadful. We found it much better to go to the Earl of Sandwich - great food and service for that type of menu.

For info on the Spa go to relaxedyet.com.

We did eat at Artist Palette last week. DH and myself had the roast beef and blue cheese sandwich. Very good! We both liked it! I had brought them back home to eat and I heated mine up in the microwave. DD had the mini hot daogs and she said they we very good. So, 2 sandwiches and a kids meal without drinks cost around $20.00 (not too bad). The place is slow! We never saw too many people eating in Artist Palette. Maybe folks take it back home to eat like we did. I would eat there again!

While we were there in December, we enjoyed both the spa and the food. We found the spa to be less busy than the GF and can say absolutely NOTHING negative about it. The services and surroundings were fantastic! As for Artist Palette, we just can't say enough about the offerings there. We thought it was a wonderful departure from the normal burger/chicken nugget/french fry thing. The food was very upscale and to our liking. We loved the artichoke/chicken flatbread, italian wedding soup, panini and philly steak sandwich. One of our favorite things is that they offer their sandwiches with ..... get this ..... FRESH HOMEMADE POTATO CHIPS! We thought the value was great ...... quality food at a decent price. We certainly hope they don't make any changes to the menu or offerings there, in spite of the fact that they are not very busy right now.

My wife and I ate at the Artist's Pallette last week during a DVC tour. I thought the menu was a little odd, but the food was very good. I had the BBQ pork flatbread, she had some sort of salad. Certainly a welcome break from the burgers, etc. at the parks.

There wasn't a lot of choice on the menu, but I was told they vary the menu from day-to-day. If true, that's a nice feature, especially if staying at SSR for any length of time.

In summary, I'd recommend it...and the price wasn't too bad either.

I don't think there will ever be a concensus regarding the food at AP. The menu is constantly changing, and tends toward the eclectic. People who hear "counter service" and are looking for a place to get a burger and fries will be disappointed. People who stumble in on a day when the menu might not feature anything with personal appeal will be disappointed.

I have yet to eat there, but will probably enjoy it. I like to try new things. But DW is the opposite. Our running joke whenever we dine out for lunch is whether she will get chicken fingers or a club sandwich--and 95% of the time she DOES get one of those two items. So, I really don't think there's a good chance she would enjoy eating at AP.

Aside from complaints about the menu itself, most of the criticism I've read centers on the service. That should improve as the resort grows. It's gotta be hard to maintain high quality food and service when your audience consists of less than 200 guest rooms. Too much down-time.
