We are staying at SSR 2bedroom this May. I have a few questions.

What area should I request? We have 2 small children (4, 2). If you were me where would request.

Do they have cribs? or just pack n plays? I called to request a crib and they told me they have pack n plays in all rooms but she would put a request for crib for me...

How big are the balcony's in a 2 bedroom?

Do they give you laundry detergent or do I need to bring it?

Thank you!

The Springs section. Its across from the main pool. Pack and plays are in the rooms. Balcony's are about 3ft x 8ft. You will get a small box of laundry detergent so you will need to bring some. Hope that helps.

If you want near the main pool, then definitely request the Springs. However, we enjoyed the Paddock section, we had a two bedroom there in October and had a quiet pool right there. It is much quieter and less crowed at the quiet pools, but they don't have slide or baby pool. Another good thing about that section was that it was the first section to be picked up and dropped off by the buses. It was maybe a 5-8 minute walk to the main area and that was with my two elderly parents who walk pretty slow. I loved the Springs area too (stayed there in January) but have to say the Paddock definitely had its advantages! Congress Park is nearest to Downtown Disney and also has a quiet pool. I think all three areas have their advantages and disadvantages. Just know that if you request the Springs or Congress Park, those are the most popular and therefore most often requested areas.

They do provide one box of detergent as already stated, they sell larger (maybe 4 load size) in the store but its expensive. Much cheaper and easier to bring my own for the future! Have a great trip!

I'm partial to the Springs area of SSR since we like to spend time at the resort hanging out and utilizing the pool, Community Hall, Arcade, Turf Club, etc. We just returned from a trip in March, and we had a great unit with a water view that was a quick walk to the main pool. It was nice be able to go back to the room easily if I needed something, or grab lunch in the room. We were also near the bus stop so it was easy to hop the buses to the park.

Yes, there is a pack n play in the room. I'm sorry I can't help on the crib.

There will be one small box of Tide laundry detergent in your room. We also got another box on our trash & tidy day. I do more laundry than that - so I have been buying a bottle of Woolite and use that for all our laundry. It's great having a washer/dryer when you travel with kids!

Have a wonderful trip!

We were in the Paddocks in a 2BR the first week of December. I have two year old twins, and we requested cribs. They would have been excellent - for a newborn that didn't move! They were metal and very, very wobbly. My girls just slept in the pack and plays, and we had no problems. I was afraid to put them in the cribs - my girls are nuts and I was afraid they would have the cribs in pieces. There were two pack and plays - they have them in the closets.

Amazingly, we never spent any time in the pool - we were too busy at the parks. But, we were in the Paddocks and it would've been no problem to walk to the main pool. There is a bridge that leads to the main area - we could walk from our room to AP in under ten minutes, with all three of my kids stopping to look at rocks and bugs.

There was balcony was pretty good sized, but we didn't spend a lot of time out there because I didn't want the two year olds to know that it was there! My mom and I would have our coffee out there most mornings, and it was plenty roomy for that.

We brought our own detergent from home, but they did have a small box in the room.

We enjoyed SSR very much - hope you have a great trip!

Thank you for all the advice. I cannot wait! I think I am going to request the Springs. I want to be close to the pool!

As for those metal cribs I think I know what you are talking about. We had one of those at the Poly when my baby was 6 months old... However that was 2 years ago... I might consider renting from A Baby's bestfriend. My 2 years sleeps so well in a crib. We did the pack n Play last Oct at the CR and it didn't work out too well. He LOVES being in a crib... :confused3

We stayed in the Springs in January and loved the location--we were close to everything and could still walk to DD. :thumbsup2 The pool has a cool water slide, a mini slide, and a really cute squirty fountain play area. It is also zero entry, I think. (so no baby pool) If you don't get the Springs I'm sure the quiet pools are nice, too. When my kids were the age yours are I remember getting stressed out at the main pool at POR because they couldn't swim well yet, and the pool was so crowded. We had our most fun at the quiet pools there--practically had them to ourselves! We had two one-use boxes of TIDE in the room. I had put scoops of powdered detergent in baggies and packed them in our luggage. They didn't take up much space. Amazingly, we only did three loads of laundry in a week. I guess it was because the weather was cool (we were hardly in the room) and my kids are past the age where they get Mickey ice creams all over themselves. :) :mickeybar
