SSR entrances?

On our next visit staying at SSR, the fastest route there seems to be via the Hotel Plaza Blvd. Looking at Google Maps, it seems that there are 2 access roads to SSR, the first closer to the Marketplace, just opposite the Buena Vista Palace access road. Is this an official entrance with a manned security booth or can it only be used by registered guests who already have a room key to open the gate? Or is it even just an entrance for Disney busses and CMs?

To get to the other entrance, which looks more official with the resort name outside etc., on the same street as the entrance to the Tree House Villas and OKW is much farther away.

If I am remembering correctly, once you have your room key, you can get in from the other gate. But it has been a few years.

You will need a room key to access the gate nearest to Downtown Disney.

When we were at SSR last week there were security guards at both booths. There are also card slots at both locations that allow registered guests to use their KTTW cards to raise the security gates.

The Market Place gate is manned during the day and into the early evening.

Then I will try to get in there first.

I always show my KTTW card at the gate anyway, (once I have it) as I never get close enough to the card reader to be able to put my card in the slot while seated and belted in the car.
