SSR Buy-in

Hello Everyone,

My husband and I are very close to buying-in at SSR. A quick question for you......if we buy-in now, our points become eligible in August I believe. However, we would like to take a trip to WDW in November. I am wondering if I could make a reservation at SSR before my point month starts (ie. August). I am just thinking that, with SSR being a new resort, if I wait until August we may not get a reservation in November.

Hi, northerngirl. HOLY SMOKES!!! Northwest Territories! I wasn't aware life as we know it could exist in that region. (Just kidding, I am sure it is beautiful country up there).

Anyway, under normal circumstances you don't need to have the points in hand to make a reservation. You only need to have the points available for the actual time of your visit.
That being said, there are some quirky things going on with the initial SSR reservations. Perhaps someone else can answer your question for certain.

Hi,
I did some of the paperwork over the phone yesterday and my opening date is June 7.I have building 2. I have a use year of March so as soon as I'm offical and in the system then I can make a reservation. As I understand it you can reserve the time you want up to 11 months before and your points have to be useable when your vacation is scheduled. Does that make sense?
I know I can not use any of my points until June 7 even though they are actually mine on March 1. So as soon as I can I'm going to reserve SSR in Sept.
So if you purchase now and when you have received your member number you can call and make reservation. (As long as it is after your building opening date)

I hope you can make heads and tails out of that. I understand it but may not of typed it so you can understand.

As long as you have points in your account by the time you go, you should be okay. Hope this helps!!!

My SSR use year is August and I did not have any problems making reservations for the end of this August and beginning of September. You shouldn't have any problems reserving the dates.b

Howdy potential neighbor!

This is correct. You just can't stay anywhere before your unit opens but you can certainly make reservations. I've already made mine for December (just had to wait for 11 month window)and my use year is August also.
