SSR Buildings That Are Open

Can anyone tell which buildings are currently open?

When I was there in early July, it looked like the 4 buildings along the water were open or soon to open. I didn't understand their numbering system, so I can't tell you specifically which buildings they were.

The final building in Congress Park is scheduled to open in the next week. This completes phase one of the project. Congress Park is the area adjacent to the lake opposite DD/PI.

The next area to open will be The Springs and that area is across from the pool/spa/Carriage House area. There are three buildings in this section.

The Paddock will be the next section to open after The Springs. It consists of five more buildings. These buildings will follow the interior lake (not the DD/PI lake) near The Springs. The second phase will be completed in 2005.

The third phase will consist of six more buildings in the area of the Fairway Villas. No exact location has been made public for these buildings. They will be found on the opposite side of the Carriage house area from the first two phases. They are planned to be completed in 2007.

All the GVs face the lake and therefore will have views of Downtown Disney and Pleasure Island.

The final building in the Congress Park is scheduled to open Monday.

Hey Doc,

Have you heard anything on opening dates for these buildings? There were reports The Springs been moved up to a 2004 opening date, but the current sales incentives (no points until 2005) seem to indicate they won't be opening more than the initial four buildings until at least March '05.

I sent an email to MS almost 2 weeks ago, and never got a response other than "someone will answer your message shortly." Hate to bug my Guide since it's really just a case of idle curiosity.

I've not seen any info about a revised opening schedule other than what some have reported here.

The current incentives don't necessarily mean no more buildings opening until 3/05 though. It just indicates a purchase option where 2004 points are "forfeited" in trade for "developer points" for use at other resorts.

The original schedule called for The Springs to open (one building per month) beginning in January, 05. I think they may well move that date ahead based on observations of construction in that area during our stay at SSR in May. The Paddock area has a long way to go to be ready to open- and a spring '05 opening might be pushing it still for those.
