SSR and OKW Boat Transport - DTD Confusing

Just got back and figured out the boat transport. It's confusing at the DTD end. There are 3 docks at DTD - Marketplace next to Cap'n Jacks, Pleasure Island next to Paradiso 37, and Westside out near something, well, in Westside.

The boats to OKW and SSR only leave from the middle dock at Pleasure Island. You must take the DTD boat shuttle to that dock if you are at Westside or Marketplace. The signs don't make this clear so identify yourself to the castmembers as needing to get to Pleasure Island to transfer.

When you arrive from the resorts, you are dropped only at PI... and can take the DTD boat to get somewhere else or walk.

We were just at SSR and the jury is still out with me in regards to the new routes. It's too bad you can't get a boat from SSR and go straight to the resorts (OKW/POR). I remember getting a boat from OKW to SSR a few years ago. Now you have to transfer at DTD. And if you want POR, you have to either transfer at PI for a DTD boat over to the Marketplace (where POR boat docks) or walk from PI to Mktplc. They must have found there wasn't enough demand for the boats to go between the resorts. Too bad.

I believe the boat route was just recently changed due to the THV opening. So OKW has it's own boat, and SSR/THV have their own.

And also I read that the Marketplace dock was too congested with the boats coming from POR/POFQ, OKW and SSR. Oh and the DTD one too. So that's why they now have SSR (& now THV) and OKW go to Pleasure Island instead.

That Marketplace dock was hectic sometimes I think, so this may be a good thing.

Why can't you just walk to the middle dock to leave DTD for OKW?

Ha ha, why of course you can, but not at the end of a long day where you already walked 6 miles, and don't want to get through the crowd that bottlenecks at T-Rex/Lego! Not to mention the 9 year old who is SURE her legs are going to fall off is she has to walk ONE MORE STEP DADDY!

So to go from SSR to Marketplace and reverse - we can take the boat to Pleasure Island and walk to Marketplace correct? Would it be shorter to walk from SSR to Marketplace? We'll be staying there in Sept for the 1st time.

I wonder how long the transferring will take? I like the boats a lot but wonder if there will be quite a wait now in between boats.
