Hi All, Heading home, our first official DVC trip, in 72 days......staying at SSR, we own at OKW but couldn't get one of the nights so fine with SSR. We are happy to be a stones throw from DTD....I have 2 of my dining ressies there at Ragland Road and Wolfgang Puck.

Wondering if there is a good map of DTD somewhere, would love to know what is where as it pertains to SSR. I requested Congress Park or Springs. Where are they in respect to DTD? How far to walk or boat. We are also doing Disneyquest one of the days.

Just trying to get my nitty gritty last minute planning done....

Oh yeah, one more off topic thing. Do I need to order cleaning supplies? Was thinking of getting some clorox wipes from Garden Grocer to wipe up kitchen and bathrooms....

Housekeeping won't supply Chlorox wipes. So if you want those specifically, you'll need to provide your own.

There are two (actually three) ways over to DTD from SSR. Two walking ways and one by boat. There is a path that heads over towards the Marketplace (it comes out by the Marketplace bus stop) and a bridge that goes over by Cirque du Soleil and House of Blues.

You can get a travel pack of like 6 Clorox wipes or something at Target for like 99 cents (in the travel size aisle). I always take a pack on trips to do a quick hit on the remotes, door knobs, light switches, clock buttons, inside of drawers etc. It's very tiny so I just slip it into our carry-on bag so it's handy.

As for the walking trail to DTD, here is the one we use from Congress Park. Go to the CP pool area. There is a walking path that goes along the water front. Follow it to the main road. When you get to the main road, turn right, and walk along the street, over the bridge, and then you will double back just a little, and you will end up at the DTD bus stop area. Took about 10 min to walk there.

If you get into the Congress Park section, forget about taking the boat. You catch the boat back at the Carriage House. You would be going back to go forward. The walk to DTD from Congress Park is not bad at all and is very enjoyable.

You could also take a bus there, but again it is just faster and easier to walk.

The walking paths will take you to one end of DTD or the other. The boat will take you to the marketplace end of DTD and from there you can get a boat to the West Side if you do not wish to walk. The DTD bus will stop at the marketplace end and the pleasure island area. The bus to the pleasure island area will get you closest to Ragland Road and either the walking path from the carriage house area to the West Side or the two boats will take you closest to Wolfgang Puck Cafe. If you elect to take the boats allow plenty of time. We took the boat and then walked to Ragland Road through the Marketplace area in September and took the bus when we went to Wolfgang Puck - Both meals were wonderful.

I agree with the above post. Congress Park and that wonderful walk is the
only way to go! :thumbsup2

We like CP as well but last week we had a room in Grandstand. I was quite surprised how close we were to the main area. The boat dock was much closer to us than when we stayed at CP. On the other hand it is a longer walk to DTD since you enter on the far West Side, but it is doable.

We always stay in the grandstand section and take the boat over to DTD. It's a nice ride.
