SSR/AKL vs.POP

I can do a split stay renting points at SSR and AKL in a studio for about $300 more than a standard room at POP and I'm trying to decide if it's worth it. I've never stayed at SSR and have never had any desire. I guess it's the lack of theme. Anybody have any advice? Would it be worth it or should I just stick with POP??

How many days are you there and how many people in your party? Do you plan to spend a lot of time at your resort?

SSR is nice for the walk to DTD but it has many internal bus stops and is a huge resort
AKL is nice to view the animals but is kind of far from everything. I also thought the rooms were dark.
I haven't stayed at POP, my first visit is Jan. so I don't have pros/cons for that yet

If you have the money, I would go with the split stay. I've only stayed at POP once and will never stay there again, I could stay at a holiday inn express off site and get a better room. I've never stayed at SSR but have visited it, it is a large resort and the theming is a bit odd but looked interesting. Stayed at AKV in May and loved it. It seems far away but seriously, they have a good bus system and it didn't seem any longer getting from there to the parks than anywhere else I've stayed. I stayed in a 1 bed room, view of the people cages on the Savannah and loved getting up early every morning and watching the animals eating and wondering around from my balcony with a cup of coffee.

Akl is my favorite resort so far. For just a few hundred dollars more, it is worth it.

It didn't feel far away to us.

Only issue I have with renting points is the finality of it. I like the flexibility of last minute cancellation. Are your plans set in stone? Mine never have been.

I agree about the finality of it, I'm a chronic plan changer!! But I did some switching of dates and ended up
With 3 nights at SSR and 3 nights at VWL for only $138 more than 6 nights at POP. So I'll just have to suck it up and stick to my plans! I'm trying hard to get excited about SSR but I'm super excited about VWL which is my all time favorite. I'm wait listed for more nights there and less at SSR! But regardless, I'm so excited to be going period!

I would make the switch. I've never stayed value but you are going from value to deluxe for 300 more and that is so worth it. The pools, grounds and amenities alone are worth it. My kids LOVED AKLV and I am glad we tried it. I love BWIV myself. Next time really want BCV but we can never seem to get in there!
