Will be at SSR from 19th December for 8 nights. As this is the last part of our 3 week holiday, we will have done all the parks by then so am looking for activites for my 7 year old son. Is there anything going on at SSR for kids, i.e clubs or organised events?
Do they do anything special for Christmas Day?
Thanks

We just got back from SSR & while I don't know about the holidays specifically, they had events every day. They did ceramics while we were there. They had a computer to play games. DVD's to rent.

I'm sure they'll have lots of actvities during the holidays

DTD is right across from SSR. They have a Lego store with a giant playing area for kids to build with Lego's. If he likes Lego's, he could spend at least an hour or 2 playing there. It's like Lego heaven!:cloud9:

They have organized activities every day....

they also have a community hall with lots of games including
video games.
I don't know about dec....but they had pool games everyday as well.

We were there at the end of Dec going into Jan last year and there are lots of things for kids that age to do. We love SSR for that reason :) Since our first week of vaca is between christmas & New Years we dont go to the parks and just hang at the resort :cool1: The community hall has lots of planned activites for kids that age, bingo, pool games, pool side games, ceramics, t-shirt decorating, magnets, towels animals, scrapbooking, bead necklaces, painting, etc. On the other side of the community hall is a big screen tv, playsation, ping pong table, large table for coloring and table games etc.
My kids love the community hall, after 3 years they still dont know there is a video arcade at SSR :lmao: and I will keep it that way as long as I can!

Any pictures of community hall? I'd love to see what it looks like.

Thanks,
Blakely

We are there (SSR) at Christmas and NYE every year and we dont set foot into a park until after Jan 2nd. My boys love Community Hall and never use the arcade. When we stayed 1 night at AKV this summer, they were in the arcade by nightfall and we found out what a play card is:scared1: Cant wait for AKV to be finished, as they should have a great Com. Hall.

SSR has a great recreation staff and they have scheduled activities every day from about 11:00am to 8pm.
The NYE party at Congress Park is great fun too and they always put in lots of effort:wizard:

Thank you. Glad to hear there is lots going on, we can't wait. Have booked a Pirate Cruise now for 21st so hopefully that will keep him entertained.
With regards to the Arcades, that is the one thing I don't like about the resorts. I thinks its a shame with everything else going on that they have to have them. My one rule when we are at Disney is no extra money for games and other rides say at DTD. The parks should be more than enough.
