SSR #1 DVC on trip advisor!

I went to Trip Advisor and Saratoga Springs is ranked #23 in Orlando. The highest ranking of the DVC resorts in Disney! All the constant pounding the resort gets, I was pleasantly surprised!

Guess the only downside, now it's in writing that it's one of Disney's best and more people will find our Disney hide away.

Actually Beach Club and Old Key West had more reviews, and the Boardwalk wasn't far behind in the total numbers. I would guess though that higher numbers of reviews would skew the ratings in the opposite direction, unless everyone staying there has a good experience.

Interesting (and surprising) info. Oh well, I guess anyone can win a battle or two in a war, even the French.

You know, it’s strange though that this order is almost exactly opposite of the internal demand and resale value for DVC. And if it BWV were up one notch, it would also be the order of size. There must be something to that. Much like my poll results were beaten down as anecdotal and not necessarily representative of DVC members, I take this info with a grain of salt.

Oh, please, it's hardly rocket science. Look at that list, look at the size of the resorts relative to their position on the list, now go look at the resale board.

It's far more amusing to read the boards and see thread after thread from SSR people trying desperately to defend their purchase decision. It's just plain ridiculous.

If you want to bad mouth VWL (my home resort), be my guest--I could care less. Frankly, the fact that so many of you are so thinned skinned about it says everything.

You think it is amusing for people to defend their resort, you say they are thin skinned, you have no problems if people want to slam your resort and just don't understand people "defending their decision to buy". What I don't understand is why you had such a need to immediately jump on this thread and trash SSR. Not just one time but two! Could you and possibly the others that feel a need to bash SSR be trying to defend your decision not to buy?

One other thing that needs to be pointed out is that we are not defending our decision to purchase. I don't don't know any of you and could care less what any of you think. What I do care about is providing information to potential buyers about the individual resorts. Unfortunately with all of the unnecessary mis-information that is posted about SSR those buyers are not getting what they are looking for. New buyers come on to post with excitement and end up being scared that they have just made a huge mistake. I'm sorry, but that is just plain wrong! Just because a resort does not meet your tastes does not mean that it is an inferior resort. Regardless of what the bashers think their opinion is nothing more than that, their opinion! Everyone needs to remember that this is an information board and mis-information is not benefitial to anyone!

I really wonder how many of those who continuosly bash SSR have actually been there within the last 6 months? The resort is absolutely beautiful now that the construction is over & the landscaping is coming along. Could anyone really have expected it to be perfect during construction? If so, have you ever seen a new housing addition being built? It isn't pretty.

Also, for those of you who are constantly saying that SSR owners never intend to stay at their own resort, please show me the proof of that or give it a rest. Of course you can not prove that. By the way, my first purchase was at VWL. My first stay after purchase was at VWL. From that point on I had not stayed at VWL again until this past December. I believe it is only natural for people to try out the other resorts. I believe if you watch other boards regularly you will see people mention their desire to try all of the Disney resorts eventually. So does buying in to DVC change that desire in people? I think not!

Where did I trash SSR? It's a lovely resort, lovely rooms, just not my cup of tea.

My decision not to buy? Hello. DH is in the military. We're having trouble getting the leave to use the 170 points we own.
