SSR 1 bedroom standard question…

Hi! First timer here for SSR! a couple of questions..

1. room requests since this is a larger property can someone please tell me the better areas to request…would like to be closer to the pool area.

2. Are the boats working?

3. restaurants at SSR any good ones?

4. Super Bowl happenings where to watch besides our room.

The there areas for SV are Paddock, Grandstand, and Carousel. We love the Grandstand as it’s pretty close to main building, and easy to walk to the Westside of DS.

The Paddock area has the better pool and from what I understand, a nice bar and QS option..never stayed because we prefer the quiet pool better.

Boats are running to DS. Have only done QS meals and they are typical like most. I have not done the Turf Club, but the best thing is that DS is so close you have lots of options.

Cant answer about where to watch Superbowl.

If you're looking for "atmosphere" on Disney property for the super bowl, probably DS or Boardwalk both of which have actual sports bar style places that are probably more in line with what you are looking for and are probably worth the small trek (I can't speak to crowding, it's not a time of year I frequently travel).

The Springs is the closest to the Main Pool and Main Building but also considered preferred. There is a pedestrian bridge over a pond that connects the Springs to the Paddock Area which also has a feature pool and a very good counter service in the pool area . The Paddock is considered Standard view. I sometimes walk over to the Paddock just for their counter service as they offer different items then the Artist Pallet in the main Building. The hours of the counter service at the Paddock are limited to when the pool is open and the only have lunch/dinner type offerings. I have stayed in both areas.

Since you're in a standard room, I'd request The Grandstand for location - and a lot of the rooms have lovely golf course views. Otherwise the Paddock offers the most with their pool and grill.

3. restaurants at SSR any good ones?

The Turf Club, opening February 3, is good (not great). It's what we usually refer to as a "safe bet." Alas, we haven't dined there in a long while.

4. Super Bowl happenings where to watch besides our room.

The Turf Club Lounge will definitely have the game on. For a more "festive" atmosphere, you'll want to visit City Works at Disney Springs (easy to walk to from SSR).
