DH and I really enjoyed our trip in April to WDW, so much in fact, that we both want to go back. Me more than him, the kids more than both of us.

I want to go January 2-8th, and not tell him or the kids that we're going....so how am I going to pull this off? Well, this is where it gets tricky.

Anyone ever do this? not even tell DH that you were going?

It wont be hard with him/work, as he's the owner of the company, I can make sure his salesman is going to be there, etc...and have him conspier with me to not schedule anything important over that week.

Whats going to be hardest is keeping it a secret from him!....the money issue's not, as I usually spend my paycheck as I please, (normally on the kids!)....since I pay the bills, he hasn't a clue what's what...but ....

I just keep seeing his face on XMAS morning, along with the DD's when they realize that we're leaving a week later...then his face when he realizes that it's all paid for!

We paid for our WDW trip in April in advance, and it was great to have no CCbills when we got home....

The only CC bill this time will be Airline tickets, unless I find a great deal early enough to get it paid off.

So, anyone ever blindsighted your spouse with a trip like this?

I gave DH a trip to Las Vegas for Christmas last year. He had no clue it was coming! Like your DH, he is the owner/sole-proprietor of his business and can almost always get away without a problem. That makes it so much easier to spring a last-minute surprise on him. Good luck with your planning. It's so exciting but you'll nearly burst from the anticipation!

That is such a cool idea- Unless you are 100% sure that the other salesman can really keep that week open of important obligations I might put the trip off 1 week- that way DH would have more time to get his business in order before the trip.
It sounds like a great plan. Have fun!

HI Brandy, Check out my tag! I have never pulled off a totally surprise trip, but I LOVE the idea! We leave in 3 weeks for our summer trip and (SSHHH) I have already booked us into the BCV next April for the kids Spring Break. Well I have not seen the Flower and Garden Show in a few years and this is one of my FAVORITE Disney Special Events. I would also LOVE to do a Christmas trip this year ....and take in another cruise on the Wonder or Magic...February is also a great time to go, seeing as that we live in New England....So anyway GREAT IDEA! Thanks for posting! Joan
